McLeod doesn't feel like past players are welcome at the Crows

Great way to treat a guy that was the main reason (along with Jarman) why we won 2 premierships. The only people that should disassociate themselves from the club are the scumbsgs running it.
A club legend to the point he should be kept around the Club in any capacity.

They’ve forced him out because he complained about their treatment this year - which they’ve completely confirmed.

I'm not claiming the boys club is magically fixed with this appointment.

However, there is some merit behind it at least, after all, one of those two has held a coaching position before (unless McLeod did post retirement, but I don't remember that at all, nor could I find anything on a quick google search). The role goes from being a total boys club appointment to mostly a boys club appointment.

The only difference here is the name of the person coaching is causing a reaction whereas really, this move is just a *shrug* and move on case.

Mcleods primary role was indigenous engagement within SA. This is one of the exceptions where being an ex-crow legitimately was important. In fact given his status as a Crows great and someone clearly passionate about his indigenous heritage there is literally no-one who could have been better suited to that role than him.

Now if McLeod has stepped away there, then sure, we have a problem. Though I have no idea if he has or hasn't at this stage.

I feel like coaching would have been frustrating for someone with McLeod's skill, he made it all look easy - then again, as much as we put that down to him being a natural freak, I'm sure there was plenty of hard work to get him to that level.

Strange we haven't heard him publicly during either of Stengle's off field issues.

People rightly complain about Fagan not being a public leader during tough times, let's keep the same standards re McLeod.

I'm very interested to hear how our indigenous program is going v Port's, both from deliverablesand cost. I haven't heard peep about it.
Don't think you can compare that at all.

Fagan is meant to be the face of the club while McLeod is/was focusing on the indigenous programs within the community. He'd have to go out of his way to be heard by the media for something like Stengle's incidents.

Was Eddie let go too?

Why is Macca relevant to Stengle? Because they're both blackfellas? Are you serious? Macca is not a coach in any way of the men's list. Do you realise how racist you are?

We always hear from Paul Vendenbergh when there is an off field incident involving an indigenous player.

In fact, when was the last time Bunji said anything in the media about what he's working on?
I thought Pual Vendenbegh was in charge of our Indigenous and football Acadamy, while Bunji was running an education indigenous program,
Not much to do with the Football side.

What a ridiculous comparison to make.

I apologise this was the way it came across. I've deleted the lost, clearly was insensitive.
Appreciate if you can delete replies to it as it was not intended to be that way.

Interesting Cooney has said same about not feeling welcome at the Dogs now.

I wonder if some past players have unrealistic expectations of how they should be treated ... or do they have a good point?

Scott West has already hosed it down. Did real well. Sounds like Cooney wanted the red carpet roll out whereas he was on the distribution list like every other former player.

Also probably a case of Cooney getting Crocmedia'd and using his media spots to generate some controversy that burns bridges.

You do realise that if you are going to criticise someone for being racist it is probably best you use a better term than "Blackfella's" in that same post, i.e. indigenous.
