"I'm big on trying to get players into the role that suits them best, not trying to push them into a role that the team needs."

Hopefully the people bringing players into the club are on the same page as the coach............
Thank fck, finally a footy brain.

According to fact checking website, claim is mostly false.
You've linked a study from a dermatologist. You've had to dig deep to find something to suit your non-finger nail chewing narrative. My tiny fingernails, and alpha immune system chortle at you sir, they chortle.

Go Brad, tiny fingernails hooooooo!

I'd rather die young than put certain things in my mouth.

I find having Chris Scott as the banner for Brads thread funny but is it disrespectful?

The whole ‘we’re going to play players in their preferred position’ thing is so interesting.

It seems like the worst headline in the world until you realise that it’s actually predicated on having players capable of filling enough holes so you’re not just playing constant whack-a-mole.

Step one of pushing Stringer and McGrath forward and back respectively is building up enough midfield depth.

Stringer and Mcgrath did play those positions for the back half last year yeh?

Keep seeing reports of Mcgrath to the backline. Well yeh that happened mid last year. Position wise ive seen nothing change since mid last year. Which is fine

Boy, how lucky are we to find a fifth coach in a row who's exactly what we need!
well, we needed Knights so we'd have a lamb to sacrifice for when Hird was ready, and Bomber to hold Hird's hand. Then Woosha to clean the mess up and be a placid knifing for Truck, who we could sack and send back to an open armed Richmond in the last game of the season in order to get Scott in :)

Long game has been well planned out.

Rutten wasn’t exactly what we needed. Campbell anointed him as the future without much push back.

I think all the stuff that Rutten identified was correct, he just couldn't get the message across. Maybe he needed more time / support and he'd have gotten there.

We've drastically upped our spend on assistant coaches, where was that when Rutten was here?

typically Essington that we brought a young coach in, took away the senior mentor and left him short on personnel, then appointed a veteran of both coaching and administration, and staffed him up to his eyeballs.

The message got lost because of pressure to get results. Scott is looking at a pretty basic pressure game with not a lot of complex game plan. The problem Truck had was they tried to go a few extra steps and introduce a more complex defensive system and style of moving the footy. After a decent first season there was external pressure / expectations to be better but what they wanted to do was a step too far for where we where at or even where we are at now. If they had of just stuck to a ramped up pressure game without too many bells and whistles I suspect he would still have his job.
One thing that should happen under Scott is those who do not want to play a pressure game will quickly get found out.
