Agreed. Port desperately needs a big, tall defender. That's why Ratagolea will be heading your way as a big CHB this trade period. He won't cost much either. That frees up Alir to be that intercept 3rd tall.

Port should be chasing Ratagolea and Himmelburg. The 1st will cost a 3rd rounder and Himmelburg a FA.

They go along way to solving two list areas of weakness.
Think you're way off if you think a 3rd rounder gets Esava Ratugolea.

Port offered pick a second rounder (33) last year when he was playing VFL which was refused.
He's played every game this year so far.

Forget Ratugolea, he has been playing for the Cats and has looked very, very ordinary.
We should make a big offer for Harry Himmelburg, he can play either end and, is a
RESTRICTED FREE AGENT

I feel like he could be a good fit at Hawthorn.

Right age bracket, plenty of money to offer and we desperately need a partner for Mitch Lewis (who has injury concerns of his own).

Kochitzke has fallen off a cliff and will be lucky not to be delisted and Jeka remains a ? (but is also running out of time to prove he has what it takes).

Assuming we finish bottom, our first pick will likely be Harley Reid and by the second round, key forward targets start becoming a bit speculative.

Probably won't happen but could certainly be a player of interest.

We obviously want to keep Mitch, he’s shown enough to suggest he’ll be a great forward, especially in a forward line like ours. When everyone’s fit, he can usually snag a favourable matchup.

However, ever since the beginning of last season where Dixon’s absence landed him a more difficult KPD, it was plain to see how shot his confidence was after such a bright start, imo he’s remained like that since.

One of his greatest assets is his natural ability to run, jump and grab the footy at the highest possible point for his length. Now he’s struggling to time his runs to simply get to the drop of the ball. It’s clearly between the ears and I don’t doubt in his current mindset he’s thought about a move.

The club won’t receive an offer close to what we value him, based on current form. There is the risk he doesn’t get back to making AFL footy look easy but I think it’s tiny. I back him to be a gun whatever decision he makes, but he’s no doubt more productive with a big decoy.

I think we can comfortably say he isn't clearly best 22 now without Port fans screaming down the house that he is

Yes because now it’s changed.

Just the same as someone arguing it’s night time in the afternoon will be correct at 9pm.

He’s a 21 yr old kf who has been a first 22 player since he came to the club.

Now for some bizarre reason his kicking, which was never an issue went haywire and the coach who’s a grade A moron has dumped him and refuses to bring him back in.

We’ve completely mismanaged the situation.

Not really. As was stated to you numerous times he had been dropped 3 times over the last 12 months. It was clear as day he was not "easily best 22" previously.

He had played 47 games in his first 3 years in the league as a kpf.

He was a first 22 player until this season.
Any player dropped 3 times in the space of a few months isn't easily best 22. Doesn't matter what way you spin in man.

Plenty of players play a lot of footy early in their career but still remain on the fringes.

He had a promising start but has fallen in a hole, but that's been building for a while.

Working through some kicking issues.
For what ever reason his kicking in front of the big sticks has dropped off. Low confidence maybe.

I very much doubt Lord would make a debut if it wasnt against WC.

Probably another of those cases where he's worth more to Port than anything they'd likely get in a trade.

Seemingly so far back in the pack now, they won't get much at all for him......

It seems like he had checked out of Alberton already.

Getting Some red flags about his attitude and work ethic.

Wonder if Georgiades could be a makeweight in any Pickett trade to port? Ie Port F1 and Georgiades for Pickett and a swap of later picks
F1 and Georgiades is a pass from me. He doesn't have much value, maybe a late 2nd. Pickett is worth 2 firsts. I agree wit bird man. You can't say he was 'easily' best 22 when he can't even crack the seniors in round 6.

It's a better than anything Freo or the Crows could offer imo.

The crows could..if they chose, offer up 2 x F1's this years and next years d if needed we have some very decent 2nds from GC and North. We have plenty to offer IF we became involved

I honestly don't think The Crows need Kosi anyway. Save those picks to bolster your midfield and backline.

???… crows have their 1st this year and next year and the Suns 2nd and north melbourne’s second this year..

The sun’s and north’s 2nd rounders this year could possibly both end up being picks between 19-25..

Shitloads to do trade deals with..

Hell.. if by some miracle kossie asked for a trade to the crows.. our 2023 1st and F1 being put on the table for the trade wouldnt bother me in the slightest!..

Wouldnt even care if we didnt get a second or third back!

The lad is worth it.

I really hope we can do a deal this year with the suns that involves their 2nd and north’s second..

The Suns have two Academy players this year that could go top 10.. they are gonna need some decent 2nd rounders for matching bids.

They give us their 1st this year and their 2024 second for our 2024 first and their 2023 second..

We are looking at having a F/S in Tyler Welsh next year that looks a gun that could end up top 5..

With Dawson looking like the big bodied mid solution we’ve been looking for..

Our midfield is looking much stronger than it has been for years..

Adding Kossie into the midfield rotations with rankine and rachele (Kossie has actually looked very dangerous when played in the midfield at the dees in recent times) and we’re getting a very dangerous midfield group together..

Another year, and Burgess led preseason, under his belt and rachele will probably permenently transition into the midfield anyway..

thats been the aim of the club since they drafted him.

But I’ve just realised this is the geogladies thread!..

So enough of Kossie!
