I am wondering if our Port colleagues can explain why Mitch has gone to Perth for surgery yet he was supposedly so happy with his “close mates” in Adelaide?
The guy was not happy at the club. An unhappy player fully fit struggles to want to stay. An unhappy player facing a lonely stint in rehab is out of there.
How do you think contract negotiations are likely to go with a cross Nullabour zoom meeting?
Freo or West Coast will be into his manager and whoever finishes lowest walks him through the PSD. No chance Piet get any sympathy. Port have burnt a load of clubs in trading so what goes around comes around.
You mean like JHF and multiple other players that have been traded whilst contracted?Maybe you can explain how he would've left seeing as he was contracted.
The Yips.Does anyone know what his injury was pre-draft?
There's plenty of contracted players who have asked to be moved and aren't.They same way every other contracted player has left. Through being traded.
Fair enough, but there's also players who requested trades and it didn't get done. You mean like JHF and multiple other players that have been traded whilst contracted?
If he really wanted out it would've been news and he wouldve requested a trade.
Oh so contracted players never ever get traded well that’s a relief….Maybe you can explain how he would've left seeing as he was contracted.
Pick 30 odd.
And some don't.Oh so contracted players never ever get traded well that’s a relief….
Are you suggesting Collingwood will pony up their first round pick if they don't win the flag or have I misinterpreted?Reckon he ends up at Collingwood, with the Pies 2nd round pick sealing the deal (although if they fall short in the finals again, they may be convinced to pony up their first pick)
Your suggestion, whilst probably has merit on current form and his ACL injury still feels like unders to me.
I don't what his current contract is, but hard to see him getting a bigger one.Herald sun podcast, Were staying his more likely to go to Melbourne and get a bigger contract.
St kilda would be a good fit.

Maybe if Ash Johnson leaves.
They just signed McStay.
Mihohec is the main man.
Ed Allen is a tall half forward / mid.
That 4 players Georgiages would need to be better than.
Plus they have Krueger, Kelly and Cox.
And supposedly keen on King in 2024.
He didn’t request a trade tho, which means your statements are pure speculation and most likely bullshit.Fair enough, but there's also players who requested trades and it didn't get done.
The trouble with trying to get a contracted player is, in most cases you have to pay overs.
With hindsight, Port should've traded him assuming he wanted to go.
But maybe he didn't.
Where did I say he requested a trade Einstein? He didn’t request a trade tho, which means your statements are pure speculation and most likely bullshit.
Why should port have traded him? What happens if he comes back from the ACL and is a gun for Port.
Georgiades had a persistent quad injury in his draft year and just could not get right to get on the park hence middle to late in the year he was put out to rest and rehab.Does anyone know what his injury was pre-draft?
Your the one that stated he isn’t happy at the club. I don’t know if you have been sleeping under a rock but when players request trades it gets reported in the media.Where did I say he requested a trade Einstein?
And how would you know if he did?

Yep, he couldn't get a regular game this year but he's going to come back in a years time after his ACL and be a gun.
OK.......
Feel free to point out where I've said he wasn't happy at the club.Your the one that stated he isn’t happy at the club. I don’t know if you have been sleeping under a rock but when players request trades it gets reported in the media.
Thanks. I remember he was injured for a pretty long spell. Poor kid.Georgiades had a persistent quad injury in his draft year and just could not get right to get on the park hence middle to late in the year he was put out to rest and rehab.
So in 5 years, he is going to miss 2 x 12 month spells of football. Tough. Is he injury prone or just unlucky?
Clubs will need to make that call and Mitch will decide on loyalty to Port, go home to Perth (a choice of Freo which is kind of feral like Port but with a much higher IQ) or West Coast which is the club of his dreams OR go to Melbourne and choose between Doggies which was his father's club or the highest bidder.
The two question confronting potential suitors:-
- what sort of contract to offer - given he will be 23 in 2024 and has not held down a starting 22 position yet shows potential when not injured (at 191 he is only a 3rd tall and thoughts are he may only come back as a defender post ACL)
- what pick to offer in a trade
That is why West Coast can just walk him to the PSD while he stays home in Perth offering a $500k salary - a base of around $300k base with triggers. Trigger both in for both years and dollars
Fair play you quoted my reply to another WCE poster hence the confusion. Apologies!Feel free to point out where I've said he wasn't happy at the club.
