If true, then the expectation of him should be what fans had for Doedee. Big expectations on him now.

If he genuinely was going to go 15-20, then it does change my view on the trade. He becomes the 3rd most valuable commodity in the overall trade, behind Gov and 13. Versus my feeling of him being the least valuable, as I thought he would be a late pick/rookie, so not even worth 40 or next years 3rd.
It is true. He beat NicNat’s vertical leap record at draft camp, that’s why the comparisons to Gov are there. Clubs were just waiting to see if he could get the off field stuff fixed, which he seems to have done. There was never any question on whether his talent was good enough for AFL level.

Yes, he was absolutely rated top 20. You can believe it or not, but Reid and a direct source of mine have both said the same thing, people who study the draft a heck of a lot closer than any of us. Like any draft pick, there is a risk, but the odds are definitely in our favour. How does anyone know Rankine will be a certain gun at AFL level? No one does, that's why drafting isn't an exact science.

A direct source of yours yet you never mentioned it before and didn’t even have a post about McAdam until yesterday?

Today, after the event, you claim to ITK

C’mon

With Gov leaving with 2 years still go on his contract, Im just wandering what is the benefit of signing players on multi year deals?

If they want to go, they go. If they want to stay, they stay.

I think the AFLPA has f**ked the AFL with the freedom it has given to players.

We got reamed.

Let's just hope our recruiters can turn the picks into gold like they usually do. Only part of our club I actually have faith in.
Lol, what an ignorant thing to say.

We wanted him gone. We were never in a million years getting a top ten pick for a player who has mostly been disappointing. Our best hope was a mix of assets that combined to that value. 13 and McAdam is exactly that.

Reid did an excellent job again.

Clubs can say no if they’re contracted, I think the Dogs did recently.

But do they? Some do and most dont it appears.

Clubs often state they dont want players that dont want to be at the Club.

Gov effectively walked from us despite contracted. There wasnt really any significant issues that forced him to leave aside from money.

Have we lost a generational player in McGovern before or after the draft?

McGovern's starting very late to ever attain those heights...
I predict that Gov will start to excite the Vic media. He will hit the highs that we all believe that he is capable of. I also felt the same about Lever and sure enough he started to get the Vic media excited. We all knew that Dangerfield was going to be a Brownlow Medalist. Those three are/will be expensive losses.

Have you been riding in Doc and Marty's DeLorean?

At least Danger gave us some service.

Lever and Gov are campaigners.

Why did Mitch choose to go to Carlton do you know and to want out after having only extended his contract last year? Just curious - or does he have a girlfriend from Victoria?

Basically more money.

Why would you go to a shit Club at the bottom of the ladder?

Gf is from Adelaide IIRC.

We made him likely one of the highest paid young players we've ever had on our list because we wanted him gone?

There were other issues. Relationship with the coach for one!

What I find amusing, and don't get me wrong, I think McAdam has up side to burn. is the change in opinion. 2 days ago all the Blues supporters were saying he is around 20, plenty on this board were calling BS around 40-60. Now the deal is done, and under the change that the Blues were saying 1 2nd pick and McAdam and we got 2 into 13. general word is coming out on this board he is 15-20 and all the Blues supporters are calling BS he is 40-60. I guess it's just perspective...lol

Anyway, happy to give the bloke a run and hope he turns into the next Cyril. Time will tell. But the Blues Supporters I know are crying salty salty tears and I'm McLovin it!
