Maybe I am looking at this with rose coloured glasses on, like most supporters do in relation to their own club but just like to add that we didn’t hear any negative rumblings from the Victorian and national media since 2012. Since the Tippet saga. We have not really been a true contender since 2006 and the Neil Craig era.

Then the Phil Walsh stuff happened. We get plenty of positive press how the club handled it. We were not a real contender but showing signs of building towards something.

2016, we beat the Western Bulldogs on the MCG. Plenty of positive press but really letoutselves down with a very poor performance the following week. We showed we really were not a true contender but still living off the bravery of 2015. The foundations were their.

2017, we exploded. We were the best side. We smashed the GWS and Geelong in 2 finals in Adelaide. We were ready. Then we choked on the Big Stage. We failed to live up to our hype.

This gave the likes of Sam McClure and his crocmedia bullshit artests an opportunity to kick the living shit out of us and knock us down. They can not let the crows win a flag. It’s that SA vs Victorian rivalry. It dosn’t reallt matter until the Victorian media are on trhe end of our sucess. We we are a crap, pointless side they don’t care. When we are very good threy don’t show that undue respect, thry find reasons to lamblast us, kick us, harass us and totally sink the boots in. See the past 12 months compared to the previous 5 years when they didn’t give 2 shits.

Believe what you like. Like, it would be very easy for me to believe all Essendon players are all crack head ice smoking junkies. Not really true is it?
I'm not convinced about this anti Adelaide crusade from the journos. Naturally being outside of Vic the focus on your club will be moreso when something dramatic occurs whether that's storming to the minor premiership or something tragic like Walsh.

As it turns out you had some unusual camp which ruffled feathers, so much so that the club even came out multiple times to defend it and then can the organisation that ran it.

Of course that's a story that people will run with. Its downright bizarre what happened.

It might be that the latest comments from ogilvie, reid, lukosius and cochrane from GC are playing down things but i just can't help shake that this might also be part of a coordinated commentary to keep a pick trade deal very quiet. It just strikes as odd that ogilvie would publicly be non plussed with both luko and rankine's testing but equally ut could just be what it is

The McGovern trade wont go as smooth as it seem's

I find it interesting Pyke has been in melbourne for some time. It has been mentioned that he has been taking a Clarkson approach and leading conversations with trade target's

I don't mind this if true, he is a good operator that has spent a lot of time in the private sector negotiating deals and probably wants to keep Burton out of the room.

It'll be tough to upgrade picks and other clubs may not play ball but if McGovern is traded for 2x2nd Rounders & McAdam, we trade in Stengle and one or both of Chol and Smith (or any other player yet to be linked) plus re-sign Otten... How many live draft picks will be need?
Hampton, Dear, Gibson out... plus Gov. There’s 4. Add in Cheney or Sig and we’re looking at 5-6 spots. If we gain McAdam, Stengle and a ruckman then we’re back to 2-3, though I think we went in one short on our senior list this year, so 3-4 picks are likely in play.

So why didn’t the industry respected player of Rory Sloane leave?

Tom Lynch?
Rory Laird?
Paul Seedsman?

If all of this stuff happened, as you said, why didn’t they leave?

Why just 1 player? And I guess it’s just a pure coincidence tht one player has a rumoured massive monetary offer in front of him?

And he chose Carlton and made the decision to suggest they have a brighter future and direction over the Adelaide Crows. Yeah, ok.

I believe Pyke is in ownership mode as opposed to trusting his department like he has in the past

This is something clarko has been doing for a long time

In regards to McGovern I'm certain it will come to light once a trade gets done it the root cause for the fall out is between Pyke & McGovern disagreement. I stated this weeks ago but had it confirmed once again

The coach getting too involved can go horribly wrong though. We drafted Brent Williams and Scott Hodges before Brent Harvey due to Robert Shaw overriding Fantasia, Ken McGregor instead of Pavlich due to Malcolm Blight, then Lawrence Angwin before Kane Cornes (both knobs I know but one had mental issues) and traded for Carey instead of Pavlich due to Gary Ayres against advice.

The recruiting guys do a lot of research whereas the coach goes just on gut feeling.

Never heard this bit

Nobody is saying it is a GC type implosion.

Camp + whatever was going on with the unusually large amount of soft tissue injuries was enough to curtail your 2018 chances.

1 player is asking for a trade. 1 player. That is it.

Then you come onto this board and use a few adjectives like “imploding” and “explode” to ask what the hell is going on.

Now you are back tracking. Since we are only losing 1 player to this atrocity, I’m assuming your next step is to investigate the Brisbane Lions and why they are losing their players?

I agree but I also feel our club needs to make a huge turn around on the 2018 dip. This need's to start from the off season and if the coach is in "beast mode" taking ownership starting with the silly season than I as all fans should be happy

Look at hawks, the are sustaining success at a good level yes? Ask why that is!

West Coast imploding too...Lycett, Gaff, Mitchell. What a horrible club that must be!

Backtracking? I wouldn't be the only one that thought the Crows imploded this season. Whether you want to see that view or not is your prerogative mate.

Correct. Not everything was right but the journos every now and then had something accurate reported.

If you don't think the season was a disaster for the Crows including some self harm then so be it. From the outside it looks like it derailed your 2018.
It did indeed derail our 2018. Not the camp but the injuries.

Its a little bit like chicken or egg. Did the injuries cause us to lose our way a bit in the middle and then the camp stuff intensified or did the camp stuff cause the injuries? The camp stuff certainly changed the focus of the front office and some players were upset, but not all. Thats the problem with stuff like the Collective mind bullshit, it allowed others to run the agenda

Burton isn’t a forward and we don’t have room in the back 6 for him, where does he play?
Two years ago Burton was not a Defender he was a forward. some even went on to say he be a big bosied midfielder.
From his Draft
"He's a straight-kicking medium forward who can jump, twist and turn and mark really strongly on the lead"
In saying that I don't know if they would trade 14 for him.

Except for you... Not more than 30 minutes ago. You stated that what was haopening at the club was bizarre and that the Crows had imploded in 2018... no one is happy about they year that was. Hopefully we can rectify any issues facing the club. I’m confident we can.

As it stands today counting McGovern as Gone.
The Crows have 6 senior vacancies. with 3 senior players yet to sign in Otten, Cheney and Signorella, Plus 2 Rookie still to sign in Hunter. and CEY who has or is close to signing.

The injuries really did come at the wrong time and to key players no less.

I strongly concur that collective minds rubbish is largely a waste of time. Get the boys working hard and bonding in a camp and you're most of the way there for what you'd want out of a camp imo.

Shall leave you guys to it, few people getting antsy for claiming the 2018 year was a disaster for the Crows.

We were building something good in 2012 as well after the preliminary final loss to the Hawks by less than a goal, then Tippett did a grab for money and Walker did his ACL the following year.
