You clearly work in an environment with ridiculously larger and unmonitored budgets that are easily passes.

To say, 11 and 24 is good enough shows you do need to squeeze every cent out of your budget.
11 and 24 is the equivalent of 6/7. That's pretty good, I think.

Because he wasnt happy and wanted to come home ??
no he was happy he stated it with his actions in the 2017 season (possibly one of his best seasons at carlton) and with words after the 2016 trade period. All gibbs said was that he wanted a fresh start with a new club. In no report did he say he was unhappy, unlike McGovern ;)

Can you show us a quote where Mitch says he is unhappy?

Just remember Crows posters, how painfully irrelevant Carlton have become in Victoria, its rather embarrassing.

I would actually rate every team has gone passed Carlton in the last 10 years or so. Imagine being at rock bottom for all those years.

Hell even the Saints played 2 grand finals.
I think you know you’re irrelevant to the VFL when you get punted to Etihad. They have the better clubs play at the MCG.

I'm sure he was happy

actions speak louder than words.
Ryan O Keefe wasnt happy at Sydney, played a vital role in their flag the next year.

Its called being professional.

Be wary of MMs manager, hes likely to try and move him again

I think it will play out like this:

GC will receive pick 3 as compo, Carlton/GC will get priority picks which will then be 20 and 21.

We will receive priority pick 20 and Carlton’s second pick 27 (currently 24) for Gov. This values him around pick 7 or 8.

Assuming no further compo/priority picks and a Melb loss next week, will leave us with picks 8, 16 (from Melbourne), 20, 22 (from Carlton), 27 and 40.

Hopefully we can use 16, 20, 22 and 27 to work with those teams higher up who need multiple 1st or 2nd picks.

Don’t get me wrong, I think we should push for more but I think this is a possible outcome.

Top 5 pick or nothing. If it happens it will be up to Caltank to use picks and players to obtain the pick then Adelaide will talk. SO they will take their PP and 27 and next year pick or players to GC, Saints or Brissy to get top 5 pick, then they sit down with us to get MM.

Carlton are a joke of a Club, really wish they would be removed or relocated out of the competition.

Much more deserving areas across Australia deserve an AFL club.

Yeah, the will have to do the work and turn something into a suitable pick.

Yes. It's amazing that this thread has gone for so many pages and this still hasn't sunk in, despite being clearly pointed out in the early pages.

There's no way that we're going to accept a deal from Carlton for McGov which involves 20's picks, even if "fair" in isolation. We must get the pick to enable Luko or Rankine as part of the single (multiclub) deal, or McGov stays!
You'd have to be an idiot to do it and "hope" to move up the draft later having traded McGov.

Also, do we really want 5 or 6 new first-year players, after that hope fails? I prefer higher quality, rather than quantity.
