Agreed, I can’t believe how many people have drunk that cool-aid because it was suggested by the so called “list Expert”.

News flash people. A 24 year old SANFL player who might get drafted should not to be a part of any player trades!

That’s like us saying hey North, we want Preuss, and will happily trade you Mitch Grigg
Agreed. I haven’t posted on the McAdam topic. But the only way he is part of a McGovern trade is as chump change at the end. Not a core piece.

Why so silent? Seriously gov get on with it

For making us wait is only increasing the trade price demand / currently 2 first round pick's..... you have till 4pm or a second rounder will have to be included

Nothing will happen this week, nothing can be achieved by it.

Huh ? .....Next pick Brisbane have after #4 is #22 ......where you getting #9 from ?
the proposed trade was was them getting 2 picks for 4 (9 nd 10, or maybe it was 10+11)

The ? was then how do they get neale and im saying that 1 of the 2 picks they downgrade 4 to may be seen as enough

I wonder if there’s some concern regarding Carlton’s ability to get the deal done without PP assistance from the AFL, as well as their potential desire to target more GWS players.

I suspect he’s indicated to Carlton and Adelaide that he’s keen to go there, but doesn’t want to put off any other suitors in case that falls through and/or doesn’t want to look the fool when he decides to go elsewhere.

At this stage, refraining from publicly nominating keeps all parties on side. Adelaide as a club likes to operate out of the media sphere and I suspect have told Gov that as long as he works with us, we’ll get him where he wants to go. Lack of nomination also keeps the pressure off of Carlton, to an extent, to get the deal done.

This way if Carlton/Adelaide can’t work a deal and he say goes to St Kilda or GC, publicly, everyone’s saved face a little.

Crow till I die
Of the recent and most significant Club-leavers, it's clear that Jake Leaver and MitchMc have $s as their priority. Chris Judd confirmed on Footy Classified last night that MMc is in Carlton's sights which was no big secret anyway. With Port likely to get pick 4 (https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...e/news-story/50aa9995716b2deb3cc588af146fcce2), the Crows have even more urgent reasons to get best value for MMc to ensure they get a pick before that.
The Trade period is going to be fascinating.
If Port get pick 4 then they will likely get rankine. So pick 1-3 is essential

But Port said that wasn’t an option .... and you know what, I don’t think it is an option

I don't want to get into a bidding war with them. Bidding wars are for the stupid and desperate. If they want to throw away players and picks then good luck to them.

Besides that, Hately is a pretty good consolation prize.

McGovern is our player, signed and contracted for 2 more years. We're not shopping him around, it's Carlton who are supposedly trying to prise him away. We tell them what we'll accept, and that's it. It's up to them to produce it, if they're interested. If they're not interested (or can't afford the price), worst case is we keep a very good player and take an already strong hand to the draft.

Would you rather Gov for one more year or the chance of grabbing Rankine or Roezee though? If it comes down to us accepting slight unders with the end goal of upgrading the pick to get a top 5 pick then surely that is better than refusing to trade him only to go through this all again next year.

As per previous years we can't look at each trade in isolation, you have to look at it as a whole and see what we end up with at the end of trade week. If at the end of trade week we still don't have a top 5 pick then by all means go your hardest but let's see what we end up with.

This is the year we need to make a move to grab one of the 3 SA guns, no point waiting for another year to trade him anyway.

i do find it amusing that terry wallet hasnt seemed to consider that maybe, just maybe, we dont want shane mcadam?
It was reported somewhere we along with other clubs had interviewed him so we probably have shown interest but that would have been before the AFL priority pick scenario was announced. Just can't see us getting involved in the Wallace scenario however.

Unless we get a pick in the top 3 we cannot be certain of getting any of the SA lads, might be unlikely but that's the only way we could be 100% certain.

If we can get Saints pick 4 then we would be pretty safe to say we would get one of Rankine or Roezee. If they are both gone by pick 4 then we get Lukosius or Walsh. Either way pick 4 gets us one of the 3 SA guns or Walsh who is touted as the best mid in the draft.

I wish they'd get the Grand Final over and done with. Doesn't the AFL realise we're all waiting for the trade and draft period? Inconsiderate pricks.
Its what happens when Crows finish 12th. Gets pretty boring not playing finals. No wonder Carlton fans get cranky.

True, but hypothetically if all of Luko, Rankine and Rozee went in the top 3, it leaves pick 4 for one of to grab Smith, Blakey (or at least bid on), Walsh or one of the King twins..I could live with that :)

there is gonna be a star left over at Pick 8 that will just fall in our lap.

Carlton fans have already have had years of this and have more years to come.

Im already cranky after missing one finals series.

Must be depressing being a Carlton fan. They are already getting ready for the 2019 draft/trade period in January. :drunk:
