So how do Brisbane then get Neale ??
As promised here are the details of this so called deal.

Brisbane give pick 4 to freo for Neale
Port then swap pickes 9&10 to Freo for Pick 4

This was on last nights On The Couch. Given that there are now a few more pages of discussion this info maybe late news.

It was reported somewhere we along with other clubs had interviewed him so we probably have shown interest but that would have been before the AFL priority pick scenario was announced. Just can't see us getting involved in the Wallace scenario however.
it's just with the conviction that he says everything with. this whole list manager nonsense has got him believing he's an actual wheeler and dealer again.

But he's from SA!!! And has now been rated as being worth as much as Tim Kelly, because that's what all mature age picks are worth now.
well the amusing thing is he's from wa originally, and this was only his first season in the sanfl as he played for i think scotch old collegians.

but also, why don't carlton just take him and play him as their forward pocket livewire. now with wright retired that forward pocket pressure player spot opens up.

On The Couch were just spitballing the same way anyone does here

Don't often agree with G Cornes but he's making some sense. The Crows are in the box seat here. (The tables have turned after the Gibbs deal). And it really doesn't matter what Carlton (or any other Club) thinks. Its simple. We get a fair deal for him and a deal that is seen to be fair to the fans (and these are not necessarily the same thing) or he stays at Adelaide. Simples.

And quite frankly he can rot in the SANFL for two years for all I care.
Can get info on the club he wants to end up at - in two years time - from Matty Wright !

I don't want to get into a bidding war with them. Bidding wars are for the stupid and desperate. If they want to throw away players and picks then good luck to them.

Besides that, Hately is a pretty good consolation prize.
That's the problem. Too many thinking based on countering what Port is doing, it's small minded and not how we'd operate at all. If Port want to sell everything they have this year to get into the top 5 that's fine, but it doesn't mean we should follow suit to beat them. If they list management team and recruiters decide that's worth doing and the price isn't too high, then OK, if they think there's more value in keeping our picks, then that's OK too. I'm a fan of the big 3 SA lads, but they're not the only 3 talented players in this draft.

Its a pity that we couldn't all get on the same page regarding the draft pick numbers. Do we talk about the picks as they are right now or do we talk with the Lynch pick already added in. I dont care which but its starts to get confusing with the conflicts.

Can we adjust our discussions with the assumption that Lynch delivers pick 3 to the Suns.

Its what happens when Crows finish 12th. Gets pretty boring not playing finals. No wonder Carlton fans get cranky.

On [device_name] using BigFooty.com mobile app
Carlton supporters get cranky when them playing Finals gets in the way of anticipating the Trade and Drafting Periods.

Tealsters in the same boat.

Both clubs do their best work in October and November.....m

At least we're rebuilding after many years of poor management, myopic vision and absurd AFL penalties which almost ruined the club. What's the Crows excuse?

Belief in Adelaide's direction faded.

So wants to join Carlton.

I guess you can't get too much worse that 2 wins in a season....So Carlton could well be on the up next year to four wins.

Mitch and a few other acquisitions will help us rectify the problems and attain our goals.

Excuse for what? Regularly playing in finals including last year's grand final, getting no AFL Assistance and ordinary draft picks all whilst recovering from a minor infraction with Tippett? And you're on your 10th rebuild in a row.

AFL penalties? Mate that was 3 rebuilds & 5 wooden spoons ago.

You might be better off handling the license in and calling it quits.

I agree with what you are saying. As supporters we get far too concerned with what Port Power are doing and I am sure that they do the same with us. I am sure that officials within the clubs don't give it a second thought. I think that in this case it is slightly different though. There is an SA player in Rankine who most draft watches have in their top 3 players but is expected to slide to the first SA side to have a selection because he is a flight risk (not sure if this is will happen or not but lets just assume that it will). Who ever has the first pick out of us and Port Power effectively has pick 3 because they will be drafting the 3rd best player. Currently it is us with pick 8. Port Power may be paying overs for pick 5 but it is a pretty good deal if you consider it as pick 3. If Port Power did this, Adelaide's pick 8 becomes a lot less valuable so we should be paying attention a bit to what Port Power are doing.
