That's a different conversation altogether. All I am saying is that according to some who follow the draft closely, who ever picks first out of us and Port Power effectively holds pick 3.
Anyone notice how according to Carlton fans there's always something new and different with their latest rebuild, and whatever it may be, it's always something that has them on the right track?
I can understand optimism, but how many failed rebuilds must they endure before they learn to wait for the finished product before lauding the builders?

I hope that you don’t take offence to this (not trolling) but I can see that maybe the Shiel opportunity may cost us getting McGovern as well. I would prefer taking mcadam and grigg with the mature picks and get Shiel with our future first. McGovern may have been worth a top 10 pick two years ago even last year but after 2018 he’s probsbly only worth a late first early second. Particularly due to the strong draft (despite being contracted). We’d be silly to offer anything better as he’s not really something we need. If he was draft eligible right now he probably wouldn’t get picked till after that too. Who would you guys take right now if given the choice:

We've said for weeks, he's not a Carlton Need .....however the fact you feel you can take him or leave him, this doesn't set his market price ....or influence his market price

Sure will..Carlton will pay big for Shiel and offer whatever scraps are left for McGovern (heck if I was going after these players, I Shiel would absolutely be the one I prioritise)
unless its Shiel to Adelaide for McGovern and 15 that'll get me interested I dont really care where Shiel goes, if he's smart he'll go to Essendon or Hawthorn

Anyone with half a clue on here takes everyone who says they have contacts with a massive pinch of salt. No amount of our speculation affects the final results. So I just cruise along for the ride.
I honestly don't get why we keep hearing from Carlton supporters that McGovern isn't a need for them. Well then why are they trying to make him break contract and join them? Who trades for players they don't need? That would be the stupidest list management move
