The beginnings of our proud Qooty club started, as they tend to do, via a rather humble post from our founder - BIG POPPA PUMP…
Alrighty, I see your all joining teams for some competition. Well, there is no competition without Big Poppa Pump.
Such a provocative call to arms was of course met with a rush of interest, and before too much longer, Team Pump was formally established, just in time for Season 01 of the Sweet Football Association competition. A Geocities website was created for the burgeoning club, which is a sure sign we’d ‘made it’.
However, the club almost finished before it really started, with its founder being banned on the eve of Season 01.
Regardless, the club held strong and made the finals in its first competitive season. Following this, the sponsors came knocking, with VB signing as the club’s first major sponsor for Season 02.
The club’s failure to reach finals in Season 02 led Deestroy to drive a re-brand to what we know the club as today – the Mt. Buller Demons. As part of the re-brand, the club’s colours were changed from Blue, White and Black to Red and Blue and its headquarters were moved up to the slopes of Mt. Buller.
The re-brand had instant benefits, leading to a minor premiership in Season 03 (which unfortunately could not be converted into a Premiership) and an unsuccessful Grand Final berth. Another preliminary final was played in Season 04 (a loss to the Roys).
While the team flourished and the new club rooms at Mt. Buller hosted many famous luminaries and wild parties, the ultimate success eluded the Demons between Seasons 05 and 17.
Then, when it was fully anticipated that we were cursed to never win a Sweet F.A. premiership, this happened in Season 18:

By this time, the club had attracted a range of household name players, including current games record-holder Headless, club goal-kicking record holder cooney, cats2rise, Eth, Logger and Deestroy himself.
With our first premiership behind us, it was only a matter of time before our proud club saluted once more.
The time that it actually took was another 8 seasons when, in Season 26, this happened:

The club’s second premiership (with the team led strongly by Yakker) also represents the largest Grand Final winning margin in Sweet F.A. history, marked by an astonishing 11 goals to FinBar19 (who won the Deestroy Medal as the best player on the day).
In what has become somewhat of a golden age for the club, we saluted again in Season 31 under the leadership of manangatang - this time against the Baghdad Bombers. This win came off the back off a couple of heartbreaking GF losses and some scintillating H&A and finals performances across a number of seasons.
