You can go back further if you like, to Aaron Davey when we were aligned with Port Melbourne. If rumours are to be believed, Neville Stibbard paid for his airfare from the NT ... and we took Shane Harvey instead
Did that have something to do with Boomer and signing his new contract too?

We have been hiding a kid called Ruprect Von Dong in the managatang thirds, 6ft 8 125 kg of solid muscle runs the 100 in 8 seconds flat and was a junior high jump champ, so much so that he revolutionised high jump technique from the fosberry flop to the von dong hop. Can kick 65 off one step and marks footies like shelling peas
Sounds more like a pole vaulter

What's the official long-term injury list? Is it just George at this point? You'd assume Mahony will be added. Think we should add Comben too. We've got to try something different. Taking one player in the MSD and hoping they will have some sort of impact hasn't worked to date at all. Have to take as many selections as possible. Try and fill some list gaps and hope one of them works out. We'll be turning over the list again at the end of this year it's not like we won't have a couple of spare spots.

Its a tricky one isn't it. I've thought about this too.
We're going to get maximum 5 games out of Comben at the end of the year.
And yet he's OOC, and you'd think its best for both parties that he gets another run before an extension is organised.
Plus he's faced enormous obstacles so often in his career already, so he needs something tangible to work towards...
But on the other hand, we could get both Teal and Lowson (for example) for half a season.

Have to let him have a chance to get back. Can’t plonk someone on the ‘can’t play again this year pile’ if there is a better chance they can.
Could even face legal action from the player if pay is tied to games, or they are subsequently getting a worse contract due to it.

George and mahoney however George is covered by shiels so we can get 1 pick at this stage

During the Werribee alignment, we let Podsiadly as well as Michael Barlow slip past us. In the case of Barlow, rumours at the time had Werribee officials pleading with our recruiters to draft him. It was as bad a recruiting mistake as any of the poor selections that we did make.
Other than Carey and Longmire deal many years ago, have we EVER taken a player that should have been taken much higher in hindsight? I can’t think of one. Our recruiting has been bloody ordinary since the draft came in. I don’t feel like our club has actually ever really understood the machinations of the draft, future picks, nothin.
Our picks are either completely uninspiring or Hail Mary’s that have never gone off.

Harvey, Goldstein, Ben Brown, Andrew Swallow, Petrie and probably a few others I’ve forgotten all have a case for being taken much higher

Goldy, CZ, Petrie, Larks, Boomer. But every club has those types of stories

I’m probably too harsh but I would only go Harvey from that list. All very good players for our club, but any of them real deal star stars?
I’ll have to go back and look who was taken in Petrie draft.

Might be replying to the wrong one there mate.
If this club keeps Rawlings involved in any role beyond this year then people of stroke within the club walls at the NMFC you might as well give the club licence back to the AFL.
I’m just sick of our club taking in the Ar:e on and off the field and we just seem to take and not doing anything about.

Does he have any credibility GR?
Has been part of the Tigers recruiting team for the last 5 years as a scout.

Thursfield, who played 77 games for the Tigers between 2005-11, has been a member of the club's recruiting team for the past five seasons during its premiership era.

A tad harsh! Petrie was up there with the best full forwards at his peak. They aren’t all necessarily stars of the competition but I’d say there were all evidence of good drafting given many clubs would have taken them earlier given the benefit of hindsight
