I’d be looking at Stanley, pinch him from the Hawks and develop him as a winger. It’s a position that we need more depth in, so he definitely fills a need for us.

Considering we wouldn't even play Dawson when everyone over 190cm besides Goldie and Larkey was injured, we might as well delist the poor kid now and take an extra MSD pick.
Dawson situation is a strange one. I thought he showed a bit last year, certainly enough to see how he went after a full preseason. I expected him to get an opportunity at senior level. I guess, like with all coaches, there are players that they just don't rate and Dawson and Young seem to be those guys for Clarko.

Exactly the same. He seemed to accustom well for a guy who had half a season and posted some encouraging statistics. As did Lachie Young like you say.

For whatever reason Clarkson would be more likely to register an account on here and get you and me to play seniors than he would be to give either of them a game.

Why they were picked out special treatment, no idea.

Just another BF mystery of as to why Kallan Dawson - whose body of work was a total 14 VFL games by the age of 24 - was so universally highly regarded and seen as a natural gun intercepting defender at AFL level where there was no observed history of that all.

But hey not only was BF fooled by this mirage but Brady was as well - Clarko not so much.

If Maric isn’t taken by the Eagles, North Melbourne would likely pounce at Pick 2 — although the Kangaroos need to officially move Jack Mahony, who’s been ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, to the inactive list to select.

North had initially been linked to Clay Tucker — an athletic 204cm Eastern Ranges prospect regarded as the top ruck prospect of the mid-season draft class — considering the ankle injuries to Charlie Comben and Tristan Xerri, as well as Jacob Edwards’ lack of impact at VFL level. Although rival clubs wouldn’t be surprised if the Roos went elsewhere with their selection.

One player linked to the Kangaroos is Tigers VFL defender James Trezise — a strong one-on-one player that’s improved his intercept ability as the season has gone on.

Trezise had a big game against Geelong’s VFL side a fortnight ago, finishing with 29 disposals, 10 marks, six rebound 50s and four tackles. His performances against Casey (19 disposals) and, most recently, Essendon (16) in the past month have also caught the eye.

Good leg speed, but some of those kicks were a bit iffy. Raw medium defender/half forward/ utility.

Trezise looms large as AFL rookie prospect | Pakenham Gazette

The eligibility criteria has been amended to allow players from WAFL, SANFL, TSL or VFL – who have played a minimum of three matches during the 2023 season by the close of nominations on Wednesday 24 May – to be eligible to nominate.

Until the rule change, Trezise was ineligible for the draft.

And the news just keeps getting better for Trezise, who has raised eyebrows with his impressive form for Richmond in the VFL this year.

Trezise is on an exclusive list of 11 Rookie Draft prospects that will undergo medical testing from the AFL ahead of the draft, in a strong indicator of the players that are on the radar of AFL clubs.

The AFL informed clubs on Thursday that the 11 players had received multiple draft nominations and would now complete medical screenings and psychometric testing.

Five AFL clubs started the season with selections available for the mid-season draft – Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.

But Port Adelaide, West Coast, Greater Western Sydney, Sydney, and most interestingly Richmond, now have spots available due to retirements or long-term injuries.

The retirement of Jason Castagna has opened the door for the Tigers to have a pick.

Trezise is an excitement machine who had a huge impact in helping Tooradin-Dalmore break a 25-year premiership drought last year.

He played predominantly as a high half-forward, often running deep into defence and torching his opposition on the way back with his elite speed and endurance.

He also possesses an exciting leap and loves kicking a long goal, booting 26 for the Seagulls last year.

He has impressed with his versatility at Richmond, even playing as a second ruck and impressing across half back.

Christ I hope not. Six minutes and 33 seconds of scoopy handballs selling his teammates into trouble on the rare occasion it goes near someone wearing the same jumper as him, and kicks to teammates that may as well be axes lit on fire they're so dangerous
