My hatred of trade week!

Im guessing im not the only one who hates it? Every year i pump myself up for it, i get too excited! Praying and strategically trying to work out what players we could pick up and spending countless hours boggling my mind over it. But every year just ends up being more frustrating then the previous one, deals fall over, false hopes are delivered and we always seem to walk away with nothing that we had hoped for. This year seems to be one of those years again....

Though i am happy we landed Gibson! I just think we should have had our priorities in order this year, probably should have been chasing someone like Jolly. If we can land Burgoyne, great... but it's getting very frustrating watching this unravel. Fingers crossed it all works out!

Cant wait for this week to be done with and for the season to kick off again! Then it's 162 days of piece of mind till we put ourselves through this again. End rant!!

Its been reported on SEN that Burgoyne will be a Hawk by lunchtime. The deal is as follows:


Williams to Essendon for Pick 26
Then Pick 9 & 26 to Port
Burgoyne to Hawthorn

Wait till the week is over, I think. It started brilliantly, I got really pumped up, but admittedly today has been goddamn painful.

I think the thread should be more aptly titled: 'I ****ing hate Peter Rhode!!!!!!'

Other than that, it's been pretty good! Haha.

SEN has said plenty of things this year. I should change the title of this thread to "I HATE TRADE WEEK + SEN RUMOURS + PETER RHODE"

In general it's been a great week for most clubs, there's been a lot of action that's for sure. I just wish there was a little more happening for us, "less talky, more signing"

I think we'll trade Josh Kennedy to Swans for a pick.....I just wonder whether they are going to try & get Marcus Drum from freo......do this and then all we need is to try & look for another ruckman!!

I don't care about getting SB. If we pay pick 9 AND Mark Williams, that's just too much!

I'm annoyed we haven't been linked to getting any ruckmen. Seem to be concentrating all our efforts on the SB deal. Robbie Campbell is going to leave a gaping hole in our rucks.

It was good to get Josh Gibson, but I think we paid more than we should have, we should have at least got a better pick back than 69.

Look Clarko obviously knows Shaun very well and rates him very very highly.....I've got a mate that lives in Adelaide and he tells me Shaun is an unbelievable talent and will absolutely be fantastic at the Hawks with all the support he'll get from our midfield!!!

I don't mind trade week, I'd just like to see the media banned from the whole thing. They just turn the entire week into a circus of rumour and inuendo. Useless idiots, the lot of them.

why would Hawthorn who have the reputation as being a tough, uncompromising team want a pea-heart like Fraser who dogs it on the big stage (thats if he doesnt pull himself out with injury see 2009, 2007 Finals)
