Preview NAB Rnd 3: Port Vs Freo - 10th March

As we get closer to round 1 I think we are past the time for experiments and need to get closer to our round 1 starting 22 so they can gel together and understand the gameplan.

We may not end up seeing Schloithe, Sheriden and Crozier get a run when we have the likes of Sandilands, Pavlich, Silvagni and others to come back into the side.

Morabito, Mundy and Barlow still in doubt and they may play the following week.

Here is my rough squad we should send over to Victor Harbour.

FB:Suban - Dawson - MJ

My sources in Victor Harbour tell me the ground is looking very nice. Should be in excellent condition for next week. And I will be making the trip down to see the match too.

Does it get windy down there Chris? I remember the preseason game against the Bulldogs played down in Bunbury last year was really scrappy because of the strong wind. Really hard to take anything away from a game in those conditions.

Spewin I could make the trip across for this game. I'm flying back to WA for a wedding and I'm going to rely on forum updates from those at the ground and those brave enough to listen to 5AA.

they have racked up enough minutes now and no need to add an extra flight, won't get in final of NAB Cup so will test some of the younger players i would think..

The GF will be the top 2 teams after next weeks games.

As mentioned in another thread, we have to rely on other results to get into the grand final.

The winner of the NAB Cup final wins $198,000
The runner-up gets $132,000.
3rd and 4th all get $88,000 each.
5th to 8th also get $44,000 each.

Does anyone remember the clowns that commentated on our practice game with adelaide last pre?. Adelaide were going to win the flag in 2011, and they hardly mentioned us. Hope we dont get them again.

As this game is not broadcast on Fox, the only chance we will get to listen to the game is through 5AA (SA radio)

They were terrible last year and couldn't stop fapping over Dangerfield and how how he was going to win the brownlow.

I'm tempted to call/email the radio station in advance and warn them that plenty of Dockers fans will be listening to the call as well and make sure the keep it G rated and not get the tissues out after Port string two passes together...

Had a listen that day as well and it was terrible stuff from 5AA. Most bias rubbish I've listened to. Wasn't just Dangerfield, they were also wetting themselves over Sloan, Henderson and Patrenko and all should be vying for the Brownlow they were that good. Those blokes must have have been depressed once the real season started. If anyone took them seriously they would have laid out a heap of money for Adelaide to win the flag.

Freo took a fairly inexperienced and young side for that game and would expect the same this year with the likes of Crozier, Sheridan, Schloithe & Menegola to get a gig mixed in the likes of Sandilands, Pavlich, Grover, Ibbotson, Bradley & McPharlin who need a run. I'd expect players like Duffield, McPhee, Ballentyne, Broughton & Hill to get a rest as has been mentioned.

Haha you should have a read of the media thread on our board to see what 5AA think of us (and we of them). Very much the red headed stepchild. You guys might know the feeling considering how much Channel 7 love the Eagles over here.
