The BigFooty 2018-19 NAFL Premiership Season

Rules of bidding for this season:​

• Everyone from last season has first choice.​
• People from last season can use their current team or change their location, name or colours.​
• People that had a team in a certain location last season will get priority for that location over people that had a different location last time.​
• Teams only allowed in Australia and New Zealand.​

For the time being, no new bids will be accepted, however existing teams (from either the top league or who were promoted from last season) will have the opportunity to bid for the 16-18 team competition. You have two weeks to confirm your placement into the competition, which will likely commence in late October. Any teams external to that will be entered into the NAFL Reserves competition.

Please also use this as a chance to nominate the "gimmick round" - this season will feature the iconic Heritage Round, as well as one more gimmick determined by the board. This could be charity, monochrome, colour rush, local pride, country round, holiday (Christmas), sponsor, memes, movies, music, future round etc. I'll put a poll up in a week based on the themes that people nominate.

also also I've intentionally not included indigenous round in the suggestions, given that I'm going to assume not all designers here are indigenous so it's pretty cooked to do that if you're not of indigenous background.

Might rebrand Alice Springs. I'm happy with the brand I have but I feel like trying something new. So the nickname will probably stay as the Pirates, but with new colours maybe. I wanna still lock in Red, White and Black for now though.

i based the monogram of something i found on google images however changed it to make it into GFC.

Great to see you returning to design man. You’ll likely have to enter the Reserves for this season though, so you’ll need to bid on that thread when it opens.

+1 this.

If you remember back to the 2016 NAFLR my heritage jumper was based around aboriginal art. I was tossing up on whether or not to do a simple BrisBears throwback, because it really is a bit of a taboo for people who don't have indigenous blood.
What really made me take that risk is the fact that the area I grew up in had strong ties to the communities of the first nation.

tl;dr Unless you know what you're doing, don't try with that sort of stuff.

I'll advise you to stop persisting with monograms until you can make one, and instead work with a bear head/silhouette

I reckon Carlton is in need of a new crest. This one is based on an old crest from probably 1920s. Also I just took that CFC and placed it on the home jumper, while I redesigned the clash jumper a bit.

Sorry mate, I only remember it off here from memory. You probably wouldn't have seen it on here either. Didn't know you had seen it on another site. My apologies. However I believe you should still change it to a bear head or something.
