Like just about everyone else, apart from the West Coke flogs, I'm already getting fed up with the circle jerk over Natanui. Anyone would think that he's the only young, tall, fast, athletic, budding ruck superstar going around.

Well I'm here to tell you there's a new kid in town folks, Rhys Stanley. Yes I know you probably haven't heard much about him but that's because St Kilda have such an awesome team at the moment he has had to bide his time in the VFL before he gets his chance to show what a superstar he is in the AFL.

Unlike that West Coke rabble that are forced to play their draft picks straight away and talk up the 'Palm Tree' because they have nothing else to hang their hats on, we St Kilda supporters don't need to talk Stanley up. We have more important things to talk about at the moment like playing finals and winning premierships.

However desperate times call for desperate measures and in the face of this Natanui circle jerk currently going on at the moment, the time is right to bring your attention to the true 'up and coming' ruck superstar of the AFL.

If you don't believe me then get a gander at this video. Yes that's Rhys Stanley at 200cm and with a stride like Usain Bolt winning the Grand Final sprint. Scary isn't it?



Stanley dominating in the U18 championships. Unlike the 'Palm Tree' he can kick too.



With Stanley leading our ruck in the future you can expect the Saints domination of the AFL competition to continue for many years to come.

He wouldn't be a walk up start at St Kilda, he'd be behind Gardiner, King, Koschitzke, McEvoy, Stanley and Pattison in the ruck. Even Jason Blake would probably pinch hit in the ruck before NicNat got a look in for us.

Well you can only work with what you've got. Unlike cellar dwellars like West Coast we don't have to play our draft picks in the AFL straight away just to give our supporters hope. We have the luxury of keeping our young guns like Stanley under wraps in the VFL, ready to explode on the AFL stage in another year or two after they have done a solid apprenticeship.
