What do you think? Loss os Mark Williams - another small forward would be handy and he can play elsewhere on the ground (not a full game though, but up the ground)! Big question - has he ever been the same since breaking his leg?

A bit of experience and maybe leadership would be good for our young team!

There will be heaps of recycled players out there, and all clubs will be picking them up in the draft - I think we should make it happen :)

yes we should a forward line of

N.Brown L.Franklin C.Rioli
C.Brown J.Roughead M.Osborne #1 Forward line :D worth a punt.. at best 35+ goals.. at worst breaks his leg lol

It's not as stupid as it sounds. There'd be alot of boxes to tick first- who else was available, his medical, his wage and our cap constraints, whether or not the coaching staff could envisage a role for him...if all those planets were to align I wouldn't necessarily be against it. Provided he's fit and his motivation is where it needs to be, the guy is as classy as they come.

Oh yes it is as stupid as it sounds.

We have, in no particular order of preference, C Brown, Burgoyne, Hodge, Lewis, Morton, Osborne, Rioli, Savage, Bruest, possibly Peterson and one or two more. Why the F**k would we need N Brown?

If we were in need of a "small forward" with the departure of Willo, then why would we have let him go??

Do you people think before you post, your do you just rabbit on for the sake of it ??

You guys have no idea, the latest is we are picking couple of guns in Pichone, adrain cox and even shaun rehn is coming out of retirement.

Nathan brown is finished, his leg is shot, No thanks!!

Williams wanted 2 leave.. hawthorn didnt want 2 get rid of him.. but looking at N.Brown might not be so bad.. even R.Hooper is a good inclusion :thumbsu:

id definately take him.. he had that adductor or abductor release surgery to hlpe fix that problem that prevented him from playing most of last season. id take take if he can prove he is fit, because i think he still can be a quality player.

x 1 well said :thumbsu:, what is it with this board at the minute...every spud that has retired, been delisted or injured have suddenly become champions that we need to draft....

weather u like it or not.. hawthorn will recruit 2-3 recycled players.. & that's fact :)

2 succeed u gotta take risks! :thumbsu:

No No No No..

Every team that has won the last zillion premerships has had a terrific run with injuries.... That my friends is the key, not recycled hacks!

After losing Dew, Crawford, Williams from our premiership team and with big question marks over the fitness of Young, Ladson, Croad, Thorp and Bailey

And Ellis, Tuck, Moss and Muston, have all struggled to play a full season

It would seem foolish to go for another injury prone player,

Especially with our depth taking a bit of a hit losing McGlynn and Kennedy

Geez, harsh post! Just because you disagree doesn't make your opinion correct or even more valid.

I think it is definitely worth consideration - even if it gets rejected. What Brown has that all those players you listed don't have is a proven goal kicking track record. And he has never had the luxury of a Roughie and Buddy in the his forward line either. The guy is silk. Can kick them and set them up.

To be honest, he is a class above even Willo. The questions that would have to be answered are his injury and ability to actually play games, his length of time left in the game and what he would cost, and also his motivation and relationship with our current players. How will he affect the dynamic?

It might not happen. Probably even isn't on the coaching panel's rader. However, it certainly isn't a stupid question. The acquisition of quality footballers should never be dismissed out of hand. Reminds me of some of the reactions to ROK last year....we don't need him....we have XYZ already. You can never have too many quality footballers on your list.

hmm no.. dont think so... look at stk & Geel for example

J.Gram S.King A.Schneider M.Gardiner C.Begley F.Ray S.Dempster Z.Dawson.. & now B.Peake & A.Lovett

Geelong with T.Harley B.Ottens C.Mooney D.Johnson & now M.Drum.. then u might aswell say Gilham Guerra Dew Croad are hacks! DONT THINK SO :D

Well actually we got rid of mark williams because he wanted more opportunities and to help the SB trade. Maybe you should think before you post!

Sorry to be a smart @ss here, but why don't we just gather up all of Richmonds delisted players and call ourselves the Coburg Hawks in 2010? 'Cause that's nigh on what some people are suggesting we do!

Yeah we've got some holes down back and in the ruck at the moment but throwing up the names of every ex player being retired by his respective club (which has been the subject of every other thread on this board lately...) just sounds like panic stations.

As for Nathan Brown, he'd have no place in our forward line next year anyhow. Why would you stem the development of say Dowler or Thorp to give Brown a run in the seniors...?

And re: all the talk of delisted players, I think it's fair to say that a lot of us are perhaps just bored with the off season.

Good one that's funny as.

St. Kilda achieved SFA last year with an injury run you'd sell your soul for and half a list of blow-ins.

Geelong, Harley played 1 game with another club, Mooney and Ottens got there years ago when they were still sh1t and the others don't play seniors, hardly a list built by recycling.

On topic, what would we want with N. Brown???

I don't think its as silly as it sounds. We definitely need that small lead up forward now that Willo has gone. I'd also think we should be thinking about the possibility of drafting Russell Robertson. This guy could give us 30 to 40 goals for the season out of a forward pocket and he also has that X factor about him like Willo does.

Thoughts??

Spot on coathanger success requires a healthy list , just dont mention injuries to loud on this board as there are a few precious type that will howl you done.
