Fox Footy reporting a fair trade would be 6 and 8 with 14 going back their way.
That's great news for us, unfortunately the media can have a big impact in driving what the value of a player is worth and can pressure teams into thinking they have to pay overs.

So Lions give up 14 + 18 + Neale + 47
get 6 + 8 + 27 from Freo.. so move up picks.
Blues get 18 + Cerra.. drop 12 picks and get a player
Freo gets 14 + Neale + 47 give up 8 +27

If not 14+18 then one of these and next years first

I'd play it as hard ball as we can. Keep our two picks and take two top 10 picks. Give them back a second rounder or future first round. Given he's contracted I really hope we don't go as hard as we can here.

Would be great to be able to replace Neale with a youngster and have others lift.

2021 1st string: Neale, Lyons, Zorko, McCluggage and Robinson
2nd string: Berry, Bailey, Prior/Robertson/Ah Chee

2022 1st string: Lyons, McCluggage, Bailey, Berry and Robinson
2nd string: Robertson, Rayner, Ah Chee and Prior/Joyce
Also “pick 6”

Freo supporters trying to argue in the trading board thread why they have all of the leverage. Please!
If Longmuir/The Dockers have given Lachie a "we want you" the Dockers are obliged to do as much as they can to get the deal done like we did getting him to us 3 years ago.

If he ends up staying I think him and his wife will be fine with it and the club and players will in no way hold any grudges, they will get plenty of support from the Lions family.

Why do we have to give them Neale AND 14 to go back?

....they give us two picks (untried) they get a gun Brownlow Medallist. Take it or he stays...

This. The original trade was 6,19 and 55.... we got Neale and 30 back. He's since won a brownlow, every other award he could win, 2x All Aust and has 2 years to run on a contract. Why would we give them Neale and 14?

I think we’d need 6 and 8 to be a part of the deal. Even if we gave up pick 14 and possibly a second round or later pick

If I was Freo I’d be keen. Neale plays midfield. Fyfe goes forward and kicks 50 goals and 150 points. If their backline stays fit along with a few others they should be a top 8 team easy.

I think they would be hoping Robertson will become first string, replacing Robbo. As for Ah Chee, has he ever been considered a midfielder of any description?

Looks a more balanced midfield to me with varying types, I don't think Mitch Robbo is in our 1st string midfield next season... Prior/Ah Chee/Robertson take his spot on the wing.

Add Starcevich in as well and it's looks awesome.

Played wing. I was considering Lyons, McCluggage and Bailey to be our on-ballers and Berry and Robbo our wings. Dev can then replace one of the on-ballers

A lot of families don't see their grandkids very often...hell, my own kids didn't see my parents much in their first 11 + 8yrs until they came back to Vic from NSW......and now I hardly see mine being as they are spread around country Vic with their own families.

Two years left on his contract? They'll survive, its not the end of the world.

Covid will hopefully have settled down, business's and borders open. Wife and bub can fly home for a few days anytime, they've got the money, Lachie when he can.

It's only another 2 years. Then they can go back home whenever they like.

I think how we deal on this depends a lot on where we think the second stringers are at.

If we think we're a tilt at a flag next year then it would be a blow losing him , no question.

But sometimes out of disasters unforeseen opportunities emerge.

There's a difference between it being by choice versus being forced by closed borders.
