So from the outside looking in Story was broken by WA media. Can only assume that it was Freo. That suggests to me that they are in this up to their eyelids. They are posturing at the moment and trying to relay that they are not desperate for Neal's signature but if a club can bring in one of the best midfielders in the comp that could easily place them in finals contention next year no need for all the BS. Neal is worth easily a top 5 draft pick and good change. The opportunity to trade in an elite talent is very rare for non Victorian teams as a rule with the odd exception.Lions should expect to be well compensated for loosing an elite talent if a fair deal is to be reached. He is contacted and an absolute gun.

I think you would be surprised at how often management on behalf of players reach out to other clubs (often during the season). I suspect Fremantle has strategically leaked this piece of information to force Lachie's hand. The only winner in all of this is Fremantle.

I don't doubt it. But why would a manager talk to an opposition club with 2 years to run on a contract with all parties happy without being asked to?

I remember Beams being rumoured months before it officially broke.

The latest Lachie neale rumour has been going around for 2 weeks apparently.

Maybe not rando pages, that's fair, but rumour and unverified sources often have the scoop which is unsurprising given there would be leaks all over the joint before things become official.

I would anticipate that there a bunch of similar feelers around the league each year that never hit the media or rumours board.

Daniels said that neale was weighing up his future and looked set to request a trade. official word from brisbane is that neale IS weighing up his future, and may request a trade. None of what he's said is bs

Makes no sense to me, if a and b are true why wouldn't they just come out and say they're staying?

Surely they're not so thin skinned and silly to get their panties in a knot and leave because the press are being nasty to them.............. that hurts no one except the Lions and themselves.

The smart money seems to be on him exiting and a deal being done.
