If true as we're assuming here, it's another missed opportunity by a club that doesn't know what it's doing. Well meaning in a very shallow way.

It’s not perfect but at least they’ve redone the monogram to make everything more cohesive. I don’t particularly like the new monogram, it still looks a bit on the thin side, but it’s much better than having the old one wedged into a disconnected design.

To be honest, I believe it would finish between 7th and 11th in a logo contest...
P.S.: The prison bars look like a cow-scraper. My train-loving son will like it. So, I guess, it is a win...

Nah it’s way better than 11th, but that’s more a testament to how awful AFL club logos are in general.

If that's really it then I don't mind it. It's pretty clean and simple and it looks pretty good in that spot on the Guernsey and I can imagine would look good on the prison bar one too.
Imagining it alongside the other AFL logos I guess it's got a bit of either a St Kilda vibe if that's the whole logo, or a Freo one of we are shoving 'Port Adelaide' text with it? Which are pretty inoffensive logos themselves, certainly not the best or the worst and reasonably timeless.
It's not the worst thing we've ever done, that's for sure.

It was a joke on how "meh" the design looks like, and how mediocre our club seems to be nowadays. I concur with you, though.

I ****ing love it.
It's hard to hate which considering all the different factions of our fanbase is a good start.
Happy that it lacks POWER, Bolt and Fist.
Ecstatic that PA is the centrepiece and that the logo can be used for both the AFL and SANFL sides.

Also, and this might just be my eyes, but does it actually have a teal border? The more I look at it the more I think it’s black or dark grey.

It's certainly a lot more PORTS and a helluva lot less POWER.
No one, unless they have a tattoo, would pick the former logo over the new one.
Wouldn't be surprised if this one sheds the shield over time. I like the shield though.

The PA monogram is too cluttered. Don't have the letters overlapping - just PA in a line.
And a decent font would help too - needs to be bolded more.
At least it is inoffensive, but nothing to cream the jeans over! Underwhelming but "safe I guess you could say.

Safe is good because it looks to most accurately represent the club. Go abstract and you will alienate people.

Not abstract, original, solid and future proofed.
I am also with Bomberclifford on NOT having the PB’s in the logo.
It’s either one of our guernseys and therefore doesn’t need to be in the logo or we’ve given up and are paying lip service.

A version of the PA that everyone seems to like - check.
It’s only missing the lightning bolt.
I really don’t hate it and prefer it to our current one. Just think it could have been better or just PA.

Does it have teal in it? It’s hard to see based on that image.
Anyway I kind of agree with you, but as far as Homers go it’s a pretty mild one and it certainly could’ve been a lot worse i.e. even more elements wedged in or an unaltered monogram that didn’t fit or both.
It’s ok, and it does pave the way for using just a monogram in the future.

The bowl of the P seems a bit Jimmy Neutron, especially in relation to the length of the stem.
