My advice would be hire a good advocate and challenge. Unfortunately the best is employed by the NFNL to stop clubs using him.
I know the umpire must have seen it, as a downfield free was paid. There was no yellow card and nothing more was said of thought of it. Pretty sure the lad who kicked the ball was Jayden Bell. He was adjudged best for Mernda on the day (although the vision is a bit sketchy).

Do we know if Mernda and/or Parade put anything in re those incidents? That’s how these things usually get looked at. If a yellow was given for first incident they would review but 3 weeks is steep, especially if the Mernda blokes was ok…

No necessarily. Umpires can note or even boundary to investigate post match. Often during finals the umpire boss can attend and request as well.

Jumps and looks to hit him high and late.
Probably not 3 but it’s the NFNL.

Umpire escort telling us after the game that the umpires said at 3/4 time they didn't see it but would get match review to look at it as it resulted in a melee. They offered him 2 weeks & op's challenged it & lost.

yes a bit odd they didnt see it but paid a down field free.
id say if an incident resulted in a melee, the league are looking for what happens in the melee and what instigated it.

Surely they have the vision and should allow all clubs in finals access to challenge or appeal?

It's very disappointing to be missing a couple of players as a result of last week's match, but we have to move on. Having two teams in the second week of finals (let alone just making it) in our first year is gold ! Our focus is to keep it rolling.

Mernda’s captain Golledge dropped to the two’s, anyone know if carrying injury or dropped ?

If he was carrying an injury why would you drop him and not rest.
Aydin Kesici dropped as well. Was captain of premier club Doutta stars not long ago.
I dare say Fletcher has swung the axe to prove a point. Let’s see if it works.

Serious time at Lalor this week, with the disappointing Turtles hitting mad Monday early there is some interesting games that those attending will no doubt enjoy (and from what I hear smash the chips and gravy, I hear its very worth it)
Stars v OPs - Some can talk about how well OPs have done in their first year but it's not their first year of footy so I don't rate that point. Yes, they have done well but they will not want to lose and then pat each other on the back saying oh well it's our first year, they want to win. However, they are coming up against a very decent Stars side. The ledger is 1 all this year. Stars have shone this year and will have enjoyed the break and take this game by 5 goals.
Mernda v Epping - Twice they met this year with totally different results, first time Mernda walked in by 72p, second time Pingers comfortably by 45p. This form makes this game hard to read. Another game worthy of finals and I think previous results will not be replicated as this will be a kick or two in it. Think Pingers are up and about so them by 10p.

Kesici, Keating and Golledge all in the twos. Kesici has gone from premier division seniors in the edfl in 2022 to a premier country comp (GVFL) playing seniors in 2023 now he is ending up in div 3 reserves football. Keating surely isn’t happy about being stuck in the reserves for half a year either. Bold moves by fletch
