Carlton continues to be a basket case at the draft .Outside of our 2015 super draft (Weitering Curnow Mckay Silvagni) by my reckoning we have 2 quality players currently on our list (Dekoning & no 1 pick Walsh ) recruited via the draft since the 2015 draft .That's 9 drafts for 2 bonafide quality players Cripps prior to that just atrocious!! .Without that 2015 draft and obtaining the services of a number of decent/serviceable players from other clubs (Newman Cerra Saad Acres E Holland's Docherty HewettMcgovern Boyd and possbly a couple others we would have been in massive trouble right now .Missing out on Papley has seen us roll through a plethora of failed & struggling small forwards .For mine Cowan Smith & Moir of the rest look like the the only potential difference makers going forward .Until we get better at the draft we are most likely not winning premierships.A saving grace is potentially a good crop of future sons/ nga prospects might fingers crossed fall in our laps and balance somewhat the ineptitude of our drafting geniuses
