What? You don't understand what gets attributed as a contested mark and what doesn't? If you think Nick has never started with no advantage from a kick and then marked it - you're kidding yourself. However, he's not going to mark it in a way that gets accreditted as a contested mark - that has to be in a physical contest at the point of marking it - he doesn't yet have the core strength to use his hips to hold off or shift his opponent and he's not going to give away his advantage at ground level by launching over the top for marks - it's lower percentage for him than keeping his feet. I doubt McRae lets him near the specky bag at training.
