Freo in 2022 is what the mauraudering Mongols would have been to the city state 500km to the west of the Mongols' current location.

You hear the stories and even when you're putting on a brave face, deep down you know you have a serious problem on your hands..

By 2024 they'll have wave after wave of super hard running, powerhouse mids and wingers. We haven't even see Erasmus and Johnson yet.

Defence is rock solid. Talls are very good. In Young, Wilson and Walker they've got the speed and skill to take the game apart.

Their small forwards work their arses off. The talls are dangerous enough. Amiss kicked 5 in his first WAFL performance.

They've got blistering pace on the flanks. 2 big bang and crash rucks.

Generally they work as hard defensively as anyone.

Things are looking very good. To think they've lost Hogan, Bennell, McCarthy, Hill and Cerra from a rebuild that started in 2016, when we started our second last rebuild.

This is what annoys me about our club. Collingwood have won a flag (2010), rebuild (circa 2015), played in another grand final (2018) all whilst we try and scrape together enough relevance for David King to post something proposterous in the pre season.

I look at Hawthorn, they're making great strides after some tough calls. Us? We'll just sit on our hands again

Reckon the difference between us and Freo can be summed up in them having a better coach to lay the foundations and them being the ‘fleecers’ not the ‘fleecees’.

We’re getting pennies on the dollar for our top end talent and they’ve been able to turn Weller into Brayshaw and Brad Hill into a, frankly a staggering haul of assets.
