Must be pretty confident they’ll be exonerated… awks if they have to stand them down again when the findings come through.
I think it is just the process. Until they are proven guilty of something you can not really stand them down as they are not facing criminal charges. The allegations are very serious of course so it is a touchy area to find middle ground.

That's just the corner of the rug being lifted...broom at the ready
People will be cynical I guess but I do not see it being swept under the carpet. Research the people appointed to hear the allegations and you will find it is not just some BS panel made up of white AFL cronies . I just think it will be hard to prove either way.

Not good by the AFL if they were planning on giving the ex-players and families a reason to believe the process would be genuinely indepedent.

The statement claims the AFL ignored the woman when establishing the framework for the investigation, leaving her with no option but to walk away.

Marque Lawyers claim the AFL gave “Amy” just two days to address the terms of reference before they were established.

“Unfortunately the members of the First Nations community did not wish to be involved in our totally fair investigation so we can only conclude that there’s nothing to see here and we wish Alastair a successful career at North Melbourne”

Hawthorn’s review was external wasn’t it?

Isn’t it a bit convenient to have an internal review of an external review that then finds that everyone who spoke to the external review was lying?

I believe Egan did quite a bit of work gaining the trust of the people he spoke to, it wasn't as simple as just a random phone call. I suppose it's hard for most of us who grew up in major cities without a particular distrust of police or legal systems to understand why someone might not believe they'll get a fair hearing in the way these players or their partners appear to believe it.
