Most similar players follow the Bobby Hill path though. Doesn't mean they won't be good players just because they don't explode from the start.
Certainly not giving up on Henry, just an observation. But it’ll also open a debate around matching an early bid when perhaps better are still available.
Pickett again
I actually think they are quite different. Pickett is basically Eddy Betts. Front and square crumber.
Henry plays further up the ground and is more Walters. Ideally you'd have both.
Semantics. Both were drafted as small forwards, both are playing as small forwards. The big difference is that one has embraced playing in the big league and one is still getting there.
I think people are still confused about this. We never had a pick to get Pickett - it was never Henry or Pickett. We would have had to give up Young or Serong to get Pickett.
This is a great game, and great stuff by Melbourne
My memory of Pickett’s draft year highlights was plenty of fast closing down of space, tackling, smothering and plenty of body contact as well as really good goal sense. His skills were dodgy which was the knock, a bit like Rioli (Daniel) in his draft year. Is that a fair comparison to Motlop?

I remember how many thought he was a "reach" on draft day but he looks like a seasoned veteran already. Good on Melbourne, happy for their long-suffering fans. Looks like us and the Aints will soon be the only perennial losers left
First I’ve really watched Melbourne this year and Rivers has been a stand out for me.
