It had to be salary cap right? He's exactly what they need and a safe bet.

This raises another point, at some point in the next few years, that Carlton cap is either going to explode OR they are going to lose some players who are very important. There must be A LOT of money tied up in Cerra, Cripps, Saad, Williams, Weitering, Walsh and McKay. Even Hewett, you just cant bring players in on market rates, its always over. Something is going to burst there at some point
there’s times where I wish contracts etc were public knowledge like it is in the NBA etc, I’d love to know how they’re making that cap work

Does Sarah Jones have to say Super Star about every second player...

Cerra is a big loss. Unless Brodie comes on in a big way, realistically we are a couple of years at best from Erasmus showing the consistency required.

Carlton will be hard to beat this season, if they play their best. It look like they will develop some consistency. Richmond looked slow.

I expect all four teams that we have seen play so far are going to be finalists. I'm not writing Tigers off on one game. I think we're going to see a lot worse play over the weekend, starting tomorrow night

Nah, no way that Tigers team makes finals

We'll see. Go back five pages into this thread and everyone was writing Carlton off for another year

I get a real whiff of hawks from 2016-18 from Richmond. The shows over lads - it was good while it lasted. No chance of the winning a flag with this group.
Carlton look good on paper and on the park tonight, but we have seen this before. It’s a long season ahead.
They should be ahead of us because the of all the high end talent that entered the AFL from 2010 to 2015, very very little of it is on our list. A legacy of some horrible drafting and trading in that period, plus losing Neale and Langdon.
We have no A graders in that bracket.
Carlton have 3 or 4 - Cripps, Weitering, Mackay etc.
In 2 or 3 years time, when the 16 and 17 vintage start to dominate we will be better placed.
As for Carlton’s salary cap, it’s a mystery to me. It really is.

He didnt dig up personal trash on people, he reported team selections...
Listen to Bevos spout again .
It’s not all about team selections , read between the lines there was commentary on the adverse affect gutter journalism has on professional sports peoples lives

What gutter journalism?

What gutter journalism?
They obviously have history and Bevo used that platform to have a general spray at the media .
Do you seriously think that was just about that isolated incident last night . ?
No way .
Those coaches have to put up with so much shit from the Journos so when one crosses the line like that I don’t doubt for one second that any coach with balls ( most of the ones who’ve been around for 10 years or more ) would call it out
