I think we all knew that though. My thoughts keep going to Hogan who despised Morris didn't he?

He did. Because Morris was working for Melbourne and fed inside information out to people to further his own career, and is now working for Fox - so it worked.

Funny how Riewoldt decided to stay, when Coleman-Jones was forced out. Probably a decision that will cost Richmond over the next few years. Jack isn’t the same and probably going to be a season too long

What about Tom Morris mate who leaked the video? With friends like that, who needs enemies like Bevo!

“Within an hour of the leak of the video and audio, it was going viral on social media.

On Thursday night, a friend of Morris confessed to the WhatsApp group that he had sent the exchange to another mate, who had circulated it more widely, leading to the leak.

“I’m obviously willing to cop it from you boys re this,” the friend wrote in a message seen by the Herald Sun.

“I honestly didn’t expect a message to one mate to circulate like this but I’ve well and truly learnt my lesson. it’s no excuse – I apologise.”

The Herald Sun was unable to reach Morris for comment.”

He didn’t expect the message to circulate? Lol - come on now.
It’s Morris’ own fault. Talking about your beliefs and ideals when you’re a media employee is amateur stuff. Don’t get why these entitled privileged men dont get this.
Eh. The AFL media is all a Boys’ club. Just wish Ralph will be next. That guy is a s***head of the highest order

Liam Ryan out for the Wiggles

I'd expect Carlton to lose more players and coaches to positive covid tests in the next few days given their coach and player, Martin, already have today after working yesterday.
You would think everyone in the coaches box would have it. And then a large portion of the playing group. Apparently he was negative yesterday morning?

Going to be some nervous big heads

It could be season defining for the AFL.

I don't think they care if Fremantle or Port, or even Adelaide or West Coast lose their players to covid and get belted by 100 points using fill in players.

...but if Carlton loses half their team and their coaching panel then goes on to get pounded by the Dogs by 100 points there won't be any more fill in players. There will be a lot of discussion about the integrity of the game being compromised.

It's self inflicted madness though. Unless they are trying to manufacture a crisis to give themselves an excuse to drop the measures, why are they doing it?

If Tim Kelly can be sent home mid workout because he needed the test to tell him he was sick and Jack Martin can play a game of AFL, third in the game for sprint efforts - 90 minutes on the field while sick with covid-19... maybe you're right.

I forgot about Martin. The fallout could be very interesting

Would be a lot of airborne COVID if Vossy had to give the players a spray in the changerooms.

Some of our players are meeting up with some of their families in Adelaide for the 1st time in over a year. Cox in his interview said that contact will be limited to 30min.

I so want to hear Jesse Hogan's views on the Tom Morris shenanigans. I'm not that up with the "socials" (are they still called that?) so some screenshots here would be much obliged :thumbsu:

Just put Jesse Hogan in your twitter search cause quite a few people have reposted it in the last 24 hours. Was also on the WB thread discussing the topic.

Hogan's quote about Morris is:

"Honest Leech. Had a job at Melbourne football club that was private and used it and leaked private conversations to get a leg up. Not even involving me but genuine leech of a personality. Have never seen a faker figure in media"

To be honest, I'd imagine pretty much every single AFL player would want to be very careful what they say about Morris and/or reinforcing to their non-football mates group chats that what they say in there is private. I'd wager the large majority of them have typed or said worse in those chats than what Morris said

I reckon Morris was one of those journos that would have backstabbed anyone to get his way to the top. He just had that smugness about him.

He had pretty good gigs with both Fox Footy and Fox Cricket. So his head and image was plastered everywhere. Had a cricket and AFL podcast.

And had plenty of scoops or breaking news.

He will find it hard to get another gig in the short term as his reputation is in tatters. The role he had doesn't grow on trees a lot of sports journalists these days are freelancers who have to fight every inch and dollar.

Back to square one for Tommy i think.

Hogan's comments about Morris were posted around the time of the last ashes tests in England.

AFL players have to be careful about anything they do or say and videos posted don't seem to have a use by date as Hogan knows with that santa claus costume dance video.

Doubt Jon Ralph is popular enough to even be part of a groupchat
