Hmmm, I'm not condoning Bugg's hit tonight, but I think that last description was a touch OTT. In a young GWS team, he didn't back down from other teams' aggression (a bit like Toby). He was certainly a niggler, but generally took more than he gave in terms of physical hits. If you check his record, I don't recall he was ever suspended while playing for GWS, but several opposition players were for hits on him.

But he'll do 3 to 5 for that hit on Mills; probably higher given the Bacher Houli debacle (which will be a bit unjust IMHO).

:D I said that in the gameday thread and got jumped on. Never saw him do anything like that for us?
A little like Toby, had a bad reputation but actually more niggle than violence. His rep for worst act was the incident with Riewoldt, which hurt Nick's back, but I believe him when he said it was an accident. His second worst was probably (when playing for Melbourne) when he confronted an injured Jack Reiwoldt trying to limp off the field.

Yeah that supports my recollection generally, although only attended from mid 2014. Bit like Toby it's almost like he's built up to it over the last couple of weeks. I kinda get a young team like Melbourne needing to show aggression, step over and you pay the price though.

He should get a discount for it being Mills.

How I remember it too. There were a few times where opposition supporters called for his suspension but in general it was because the niggle had pissed them off.

Disappointing it is.

I think we forget this bullshit about a rivalry with the Bulldogs and start to worry about the teams that matter. Last year is done. The Cats tonight matter.
:D And the future is bright.
