If I was the Crows I wouldn't accept that
The Crows players want out, not the other way around.
Greenwood is out of contract and Crouch will be a free agent next year??
For once the GC may have a bit of power in negotiations.

Probably indeed for crouch but overs for greenwood. If you’re the crows and you’re trying to rebuild perhaps they help you get Grundy from Collingwood.

11 and 20 won't help them get Grundy

Crows might as well wait and get band 1 for Crouch next season. Or give the new coach a chance to try and keep him.

How did we get miniscule draft concessions and GC this haul... according to North supporters we are the golden children/darlings of the AFL?

We actually had the chance to get these concessions but instead chose a solitary free kick to Omac late against North.

Suns concessions go way to far and are not targeted correctly imo.

AFL know that at least half of those picks end up back in the heartland VFL so all good there. Just adding more kids to the same cycle - come to GC for a few years of sun/training then go wherever you want. Rinse and repeat.

This does absolutely nothing to address the root of the problem - that is the draft is compromised! Players have the power to nominate where they want to play before or shortly after being drafted.

The comp needs some wider changes to the player movement conditions whether it be financial penalties, cap hits or draft pick losses for signing away players on their first contract.

Our players all want to stay. We were just as much of a shitshow four years ago as the Suns are now. If we can do it, the suns can do it.

Suns are not the Lions... trying to use us for any comparison or metric to gauge a path for them is probably why they are in the deepest of piles of poo at the moment. That Gold Coast sports market is littered with the corpses of failed franchises and $ thrown away to try and keep them afloat.

Your post makes no sense to me whatsoever. Any of it.

The suns are in the position they are now because the organization failed dismally on many fronts when they started. They didn't copy us at all in terms of a start up model. My statement should have been simple enough to understand, with the right work environment staff / players stay.

Because teams on the Gold Coast have failed in the past doesn't automatically mean that it will always happen in the future. Perhaps the methodology of how the various codes tried to start a team on the Gold Coast was wrong. Perhaps it was purely a timing thing. The massive spike in TV & online broadcast deals means teams situated in growth corridors are vital to increased revenue for the code. Make no mistake, the money the AFL is investing into the Suns & GWS will come back ten fold in the future.

Never forget... we were offered a fairly substantial package at one point, but Angus knocked it back in his desperate grab to remain in power.

After dust settles for the trade period, it'll be interesting to see who actually moves on from the crows. At this point in time they aren't really bleeding any players i'd lose sleep over. Granted you'd expect those type of players to be announced early, the key ones may fall later.

When you are trying to re-set the club's list and regenerate, a lot of the names that have been confirmed as going make sense from a list management perspective. Unless a laird or smith up and leave I wouldn't be all that worried if i was a crows supporter. The key guys that you don't want to lose still have multiple years under contract so that gives the crows some tools to get duly compensated on any major transactions.

There has been a bit of talk that the Crouch brothers are open to leaving the Crows, would the Suns be open to offering pick 2 up for both of them? + steak knives?

If they didn’t they’d be even dumber than I assume they are.

I wonder where all the noise about Laird, Smith, Crouch bros and even Tex has come from. Is it just media speculation, do some want out, or are the Crows looking to blow it all up and start again? It's hard to tell.

If Adelaide were to offer up both, GC will come up with every other option possible to make it happen without offering pick 1 or 2.
