Both Cox and Treloar questions does point to a salary cap squeeze on them. Grundy, De Goey, etc needing new deals is putting a lot of pressure on them

Yeah... a huge squeeze...I'm more in the camp now of how long with Beams . All the reported commotion of leather clad money lenders turning up to watch training and his health issues ... The tolerance levels would be like any canteen....no cold piesGetting Beams as top up must've added to the squeeze. Too bad that premiership didn't happen this year.
It's OK they picked up the best forward available for nothing last year.Tigers got rorted with their compensation pick for Ellis. 5 years by $600k should be a first round pick compensation.
Looks like the AFL want to protect those Gold Coast picks.

Geelong really can’t complain though.I am going to go out on a bit of a limb here but I have found it pretty amusing seeing Kelly's manager try and justify why he only wants to go to WC and not Freo not for footy reasons but for wellbeing reasons. Give me a spell! I know his kids are sick and all but i have been looking for a specific explanation and havent seen one yet.
Then i see another article... Kelly hopes that Geelong draft 200 gamers with their picks... must be best bloke of all time.

Seriously?
You need to put yourself in his shoes just for a moment here.......He has moved here from the other side of the country, thousands of miles from any family support, his wife and little boy left on their own a lot of time while Tim is involved/travelling etc for footy....their little boy is Autistic and mum is home alone to care for him and all that that involves.
Then they have a set of twins....and one of those little fella's is Autistic too. 3 littlies, 2 of them Autistic and dad off a lot of time playing footy.....and things get so much harder for his wife battling away on her own.
You can understand why they want to go home to the love and support of their families, so Tim can concentrate on football and he doesn't have to worry about his wife and children..
Now, how do you reckon you would go if it was you in his shoes? hmm? Where would you want to be?
I suspect he nominated WC as his preference, but I think he would've gone to Freo just to get home if WC couldn't take him..

On your last sentence, his manager admitted today straight up that Fremantle were no chance and never even came into calculations.
Please do not twist my statement to imply I said he should not be allowed to move home... I never said I disagree with him going back to WA full stop? Yes I said I understand his kids are sick and I get that he wants to go back. My point was that he has nominated the Eagles and refused the Dockers yet he is going home for family reasons. Would be a stretch of logic to say that footy reasons had absolutely 0 to do with decision to refuse Freo and nominate WC only considering WC are a premiership contender and Freo are the uncool dud cousin?

Haha fair call, in all honestly Freo would be the last club in the comp id go to just about.Hmmm ... I would have thought avoiding immersing myself into an under-performing club with a massive inferiority complex whose entire existence is an orbit around the Eagles, who have just sacked two of their most senior staff and replaced one of them with someone of Bells caliber and who could conceivably never win a premiership is actually a very positive step in terms of the onging wellbeing of both himself and his family...
It does look good, these will be the games when we are thankful CEY is at the stoppages taking some heatShuey, Yeo, Kelly and Gaff is a ridiculously talented midfield. WC will be a very strong contender again next year.
Not sure Kelly or his manager need to provide a full disclosure of the reasons why he wanted to go to West Coast. What I did see is that they're had a relationship with West Coast for 3-4 years (likely pre draft year) and he felt they were the best club for him and his family.I am going to go out on a bit of a limb here but I have found it pretty amusing seeing Kelly's manager try and justify why he only wants to go to WC and not Freo not for footy reasons but for wellbeing reasons. It could be a myriad of reasons, better support for families and players, stronger connection with WC vs Freo, better chance of winning a premiership. For all we know WC has organised the best specialists and support for his wife and kids.
He's chosen his employer which 99.9% of the population get to do everyday and I can't fault them doing what they thing is best. Why wouldn't he want the best for Geelong? Not everyone's an a-hole and wishing the worst on a team.
FYI autism doesn't make a kid sick.
The least surprising development. God I hope we get some great media from Peter Bell in the next week:

Saints will need to include another club if they are to hang on to next year's first. 16 and 21 for 6 and change?
