St Kilda have traded pick 6 for picks 12 and 18.

I have a small soft spot for the Saints, and I have this feeling of dread they're going to do something very stupid, like take one of those picks and next year's first rounder and offer it to the Dockers for Hill.

They need so much more than Hill, Ryder and Howard to pull themselves up the ladder.

Freo will get pi**ed if they split 6. Bit of a non-starter I reckon.

We were able to trade down a single spot last year as Port was desperate to get Rozee and pick up a free second round pick but I don't see anyone being willing to do such a lopsided trade this year. GWS probably wants to be even earlier than 6 to ensure they get a pick in before Tom Greene is bid on.
This comment aged well.

Hahaha as I write this Damian Barrett (grain of salt etc) reports that Freo wants two first round picks plus something for Hill, and that the scheduled meeting between the Saints and Freo to discuss the trade yesterday ended after less than 3 minutes.

Saints - so where are we belly?

Bell - two top 10 picks, i need another feather for my cap you see

Saints - GAGF

The least surprising development. God I hope we get some great media from Peter Bell in the next week:

This is the exact same as how the Lachie Neale trade played out last year. Two teams playing hardball = deal done 2 mins before deadline. Love how St Kilda called their bluff. Bell frustrating to deal with but good entertainment when we aren't directly involved.

Funny thing is it appears that Bell's attitude has rubbed off on Freo supporters, they talk the same way.

They thought he played last year well too.

Bell's problem now is that Freo have an NGA kid (Henry) ranked around the mid teens. So if they take 12 there is an outside chance they would have to burn it on their NGA kid where as with 6 they could safely pick a player and then pick up the NGA.

Could be another feather someone sticks up Bell's backside :D

Bell is the best ad for players avoiding freo. Come to us and if you ever want to leave we will stuff you up, and other clubs won’t trade with us cause we are difficult.

I still shake my head at the fact that bell honestly believed that Neale would change his mind and stay because he (bell) had come on board. Feather up his backside, nowhere near his hat.

So glad we don’t have an all conquering ego at our helm. Give me boring old play my role, club first mentality every time.

Burton sacked by Adelaide.

Yeah you've got to wonder what affect he had on the club in his 5 years with us, the Voss/Lepitsch years. Considering all the flak we drew for having "Kulcha" issues and with what CEY said recently it gets easier to connect the dots. Toxic environments seem to just follow him around. He's not loved on the Crows board that's for sure.

Edit: Holly crap just read an article about these Mankind camps and whats involved, Burton really screwed the pooch if he gave elite athletes up to his pop-psych mates.

Redit: Holly crappier!

"Football boss Brett Burton first raised the prospect of a relationship with Collective Minds when he worked at the Brisbane Lions, running that club’s high performance. The Lions more recently rejected another approach from Woulfe, choosing to prioritise the welfare of players and their families given that club’s issues in the past with retention."

Bombers asked for Heeney and Blakey for Daniher LOL
Dont understand why people and 'experts' think Danniher is worth a fortune. He is a good key forward true, however he has been injured for 2 years running. There is no gurantee he will get better or be the same player. Patton did 3 ACL's and is worth only 3rd round pick. If he was fit w/o the injuries he would be worth what they are asking.

One article even said they would reject Picks 5 and 9 because they want some sort of instant replacement.
