It is a beat up. They hid the truth of the matter in the last three paragraphs:

Former ASADA CEO Richard Ings, who led the organisation from 2005-10, said the findings didn’t change anything because Thymosin Beta-4 was on the World Anti-Doping Authority’s banned list in 2010.

Ings said none of the new evidence impacted the decision reached by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

I could see Geelong using 17 tbh. Bulldogs with pick 13 may also bite. They were keen before he nominated Carlton. If the Blues use pick 9 that's embarrassing.

Adding a shit tier second rounder for Martin isnt going to improve their list. Might as well make a statement. National draft will be interesting. Unlikely to be taken first round. GC hold the first pick of the second. We hold the next pick. Could be very interesting if Carlton decide to drop back into this draft at that point if Martin continues to slip. I'd have him run medicals and have him meet Fagan. Would be very happy to use pick 22 on Martin.

Cherry on top is FIGJAM Aishy boi getting pushed out of the Pies because of Beams. He is bog ordinary. He will linger on that list as fringe 22 for 3 years and then earn himself a one year last chance saloon contract before delisting. Too small/not strong enough to play a Lachie type inside mid; too inaccurate and slow to play wing/drive off half back; too slow to be a really effective shutdown small defender. I'd rate our boy Answerth leagues in front of Aish already as a defender.

Matches all their BF posters too who are claiming it is a win because they wanted to keep him anyway. They seem unusually confident they can "make him fall back in love with the club" and re-sign.

Only way I can see that happening is if they do well enough to make a prelim and Joe has a full, healthy season of kicking snags. Which based on their inconsistency last few years would have to be pretty unlikely. The fact that they refused to deal in just picks seems to indicate they are either hoping for or expecting this to happen though.

It seems short sighted to say that draft picks "don't help the club in their current situation" it makes it appear that they do their list management planning with only the next season in mind when a club like us has had success because of a plan that has been borne out over a few years.

I just don't see how either of those two teams will have the cap space to play what he's going to be asking in the first 2 years tbh
