Suns have started on their extended injury list early this year.

Always knew building in Nerang was a huge mistake. Place is an absolute SHITHOLE and is obviously cursed.

One time I parked opposite metricon and my tires were gone within minutes. Gold Coast is a HOLE.

The Gold Coast is not a hole... It may be a hive of scum and villainy, digusting, corrupt, a hole, a dive but it is not a pr0n star!

Swine. How dare you.

A. Metricon is in Carrara not Nerang.
B. Nerang is not a shit hole
C. I grew up in Nerang
D. I was lying when I typed point 'B'

I remember the first time my mate got robbed in Nerang. It's a right of passage - part of growing up on the GC.

Carrara is a myth to trick people into buying at Nerang. It's not a real suburb.

There is literally only one thing in the suburb of Carrara and that's the Carrara Markets. Everything else is just Nerang.

Rumour on the Pies board that Dayne Beams is going to announce his retirment. Really get the sense over there that the tide has turned from welcoming him back to being a bit fed up with the melodrama, I guess similar to how it unfolded while he was here.

Think it would probably be in his best interests to pull the pin now anyway, have to question how much his heart would still be in it after the last couple of years.

Was there all much drama with us against him? I felt many were pretty accomodating despite the words at the B & F. Think the offer we got for a player many saw had maybe 1 or 2 years max left as fantastic. Maybe that softened the blow? I've never felt any animosity towards him, he's just a guy who played some games at the Lions now; some very, very good games. Hope he gets things together in his life.

Anyone that thinks we are going to do a Melbourne this year hasn't got a bloody clue. They just signed Harley Bennell FFS.View attachment 817448

We should thank the Dees for setting such an example, it seems like we've gone out of our way this pre-season to ensure such complacency doesn't infect us.

We are like the kids who eat their vegetables without being told. They needed the Scott cam Jatz ad to learn how to put cheese on a biscuit

It was great to hear Fagan openly talking about what he'd learnt from our loss to GWS.

Goodwin stated prior to last season he hadn't even watched the replay of the Dees' prelim final loss to West Coast.

Chalk and cheese.

If we do have a poor season and fall down the ladder, it'll have nothing to do with Melbourne.

Would be really interesting to know if other teams do anything prior to pre-season the way ours do (e.g. a whole group of young players doing running sessions together)

I think in one of his podcasts Mitch talks about the off season. If I recall correctly teams typically give players off season fitness and running regimes and they're expected to do at least 80% of the scheduled workload, so I don't think the off season running is necessarily out of the ordinary.

What stands out to me is the camaraderie of the playing group and the in it together attitude that sees them putting in the work as a team even when they're off the clock. Not sure how many other clubs would be similar to that

From what I’ve read, GWS and more recently GC.

If they stick together, GC are going to be scary in about 5 years.
