Seems kind of weird. I think SPP is very unlucky that the Crows player was slung into him by the other Port tackler and it looked bad as a result. In my view SPP didn’t initiate anything and was just kinda there. Got done for not being able to teleport away.

Did the AFL have some behind the scenes talks with Port and say don’t fight this?

Not sure if it’s the same charge, but they changed the rules after the season so that the Maynard incident would be a reportable offence.
