Wow the Crows have absolutely killed the Giants. 56 point win 22.15 147-14.7 91. Their forward line is just so potent it is scary how easily they can kick high scores. They did this without Taylor Walker and Brad Crouch as well. The Giants were missing Deledio and Coniglio.

Edit: The Crows were missing Lever and Thompson as well. Credit to their depth I only saw the second half but she of their lesser names contributed really well. Eddie Betts was outstanding with 4 goals and it seemed like he was involved in every single Crows score.

Kinda makes our loss to Adelaide in the JLT not look quite so bad.

What was very obvious to me was the Crows pace, we seriously need to inject 2-3 quick players into our team if we are to compete with these bigger teams, they don't need to be A-graders either. Charlie Cameron and Milera certainly aren't A graders but they absolutely dominated today with their pace. Even Curtly Hampton. Would be great if William and Cox could force their way into the side.

Even when freo has tried to wrestle the game back away and kicked a goal against the flow, Geelong has been able to keep the pressure on and just slow things down and build up again. It's something we need to learn how to do. We are a long way away but I believe Fagan will get us there!

It's interesting, the discontent at Freo is very similar to what we have had (as in it to some extent involves their captain) - I was as surprised Fyfe was elected captain as I was when Rocky got a second year as skipper. All is not entirely well between Fyfe and some players, he is a hard task master by all accounts, and hasn't endeared himself to the entire playing group. Also there have been a string of player discipline related issues over here

Read WAlion's response, pretty well nails it. They have picked up some recruits but there is a deeper seated issue there.

Yeah word was that the playing list is basically more factional than the NSW Labor party. Their captaincy decision was a shit sandwich either way that was going to annoy a large section of the playing group whether it was Mundy or Fyfe.

Fyfe is not liked by a significant chunk of their playing list. It's going to end badly for Ross.

That was my point. From the outside it's hard to see why they would play poorly.

Yep. TBH TBD I think our list is in better shape than theirs as an age profile and evenness. We are also further along on outing behavioural issues amongst certain players, some of whom aren't here now. Where they are getting rid of solid citizens, like we did a few years ago.

Yep, I can see Lyon and Fyfe going at season's end. They still have the 3rd (i think?) oldest list in the comp so they are facing down the barrel of a full rebuild.

Given this person is someone who hasn't given me info before I'm not sure how credible it is, but he was also speaking about Cochrane and said some inside stuff about him that I'd heard from a credible source so he may well be in the know.

Pretty tough to respect Ablett in his time at GC. Seems it all got too hard for him and he wants to take the money and run.
