Yes, it is true. Just read it on the North Hobart Facebook page. A major loss for NHFC and a major loss for the TSL. You either hated him or loved him, but as much as I personally hated him, I do respect what he has done over his career and the entertain he does bring.
This gets me wondering, why haven't they given him a farewell game this weekend? He is a life member, won multiple goal kicking awards, a club BnF and Southern rep. Clint Brown needs to pull his head in. Why not give him one last game? I mean, they are no chance of beating Clarence, so why not give him a farewell game at NHO and especially against Clarence. He hates them like everyone else and has enjoyed great battles against them.
He will go down in NHFC history as one of their greatest players, and yet Clint Brown still won't give him a farewell game. NHFC supporters deserve a chance to say farewell to a man who has given them 14yrs of service, and also a way of NHFC to repay him for what he has brought to the club.
Clint Brown should have a serious hard look at himself. He is a Burnie man at heart, and is all for himself, but surely he knows how much the fans love Robbie. Clint Brown should maybe stop running his mouth on the ground, and maybe go through NHFC archives (and Brown should also get a kick for once).
Clint Brown and NHFC hold your head in shame.

Thanks for that Robbie.... I think we all get the msg.

He is a legend of North Hobart. Im sure our coaching staff are glad they dont have to stew over who to put on him or what happens if he turns it on today. Terrible from C. Brown

Why is it when the good players get dropped they retire straight away. They should sit back & think about all the mates they played with that had to put up with being dropped and then having to fight their way back into form. Rob was a fantastic player over many years for the demons. Its not Brown's fault that the game has caught up with Robbie. I would imagine he had the opportunity to go back to the 2s and regain his form. He didn't take that option. All the best in retirement Rob you had a fantastic career

This isn't Robbie but ahh, wish I put $40 on some smartass saying that. I just find it hard to believe that a man with his service to a club who "seem" to be all about history, to not give him one.

Lol...was only winding you up wizard... I agree... Robbie DOES deserve a farewell game. Has been a great player for North Hobart for many years. In saying that though...i dont know the full story in regards to Robbies sudden retirement.... I'd suggest that Clinton Brown would of made a "tough call" with the North Hobart Fc's best interests at heart.:thumbsu:

sounds very much like Adelaide and Tyson Edwards gets dropped then pulls the pin why should they give a farewell game if the guy suddenly quits after being dropped still plenty of rounds left in the season to work your way back into the side, i dunno bit harsh on Clinton Brown for dropping him it would have been a tough descision to drop him but thats why you have a coach to make the tough calls

Heard from a player that he was informed he wouldnt get back in the ones and would not get a farewell game, bit harsh considering all he did for that club over fourteen years. Also, leading the goal kicking this year, Brown obviously thinks burnie mates will win north games up forward. Maybe if they play lauderdale hobart or south launceston only.

North could have done with him last saturday against Clarence. May not have changed the result but at least he would have annoyed the opposition:D. He always played with passion, that is something some of the others seem to lack at the moment.

Selection panels must have changed from when i use to play, i thought on the coach and the player go into the rooms, no the whole side! I saw his comments on the news and on ABC on the weekend and Robbie said he didn't think it was any value to him or the side to play in the two's, sounds like he made the decision himself to retire. Probably could have got a farewell game, wouldn't have made any difference to the score, i guess you can't predict those things!

I notice on the North Hobart Websites that "Brownie's banter" on Demon Radio has not been done since round 7. Another Southern Coach starting to feel the Heat?

Also Congratulations to Robbie Devine on a “Great Career” a true Character of the game in Tassie and Loyal Clubman to NHFC.

Yeah sorry bout that Grey Budgie, just haven't had time to do it mate, trying to spend a bit of time with my wife and kids also, and the guy i usually do it with has been away. Should be updated very shortly! Certainly not feeling the heat though :)

Good to hear.. Good idea and a way for supporters to get an insight into the coaches review. At least the NHFC as well as a few other clubs websites are kept up to date unlike some. Enjoy the school Holidays with yer missus and kids Still Kickin :thumbsu:

Browny should stop worrying about his little 'talk show' on NHFC website and start worrying about how his team is going to win a game! I mean they have only won 1 game out of their last 4, and with a trip to Burnie this weekend may mean another loss. I hope Clint starts to get a kick also, he seems to be worried more about coaching than actually getting a kick. I that what 'the expert' is trying to say when he said North are in trouble, DJ.
Didn't "Browny" just say that he hasn't been real focussed on his talk show you idiot. Talk about clutching at straws. By the way a good coach would do exactly as you said and make his primary focus coaching his team to the best of his abilities even if it meant sacrificing his own game.

He was a good, loyal, one club player for his whole career so you've gotta hand it to him - fantastic career! :thumbsu:
Always good for a shitstir too and didn't crack the big toughman hero sooks like a lot of the floonces out there do now.

I thought his time might've been coming pretty soon actually, in the Good Friday match he really looked at sixes-and-sevens in that forward line and his body language in the night game when he got dragged at Bellerive last weekend wasn't a good sign.

He did well, second highest goal kicker in NHFC history behind Alan Rait and second most senior games behind old "Doctor Don" McLeod.

You come out of the closet when Rob is ommitted. You talk about in house stuff that only those from the inside would now about. You must be a player that has been told the truth and didn't like it and probably playing 2s. You were not about bagging NH when they were up and winning early. Clubs can well do without your type. Remember its empathy not sympathy. Or if you don't understand that take the mirrow test. Games of football are hard enough to win without having one of their own stabbing people from behind.

What so called "in-house" stuff have I mentioned? The post you quoted me on was about supporting 'the experts' post.
I was a supporter of North Hobart back when Darren Trevena used to coach them, and unhappy with the treatment of Robbie. So to call me a back stabber is highly un-called, seeing as I have no involvement in the club.
You're posts should be less be focussed less on assumptions.

Assumptions??????
If you have no involvement in the North hobart Club how could you be unhappy with how Robbie was handled???
Wouldnt you have no bloody idea?????

NHFC best interest in whole, would have been to let their "favourite son" say goodbye to the fans whom had turned up to watch him annoy backman for the last 14yrs.
Clint Brown surely knows that he is 2nd in most games played at the club (4 short of games record), and that you cannot let a champion of that club go in such a way.

Be very interesting to see how they go tomorrow. See young McEvoy is playing, looking forward to seeing him and to see if Brown decision was the right one.

Pretty cluey on the games thing mate, you obviously have inside knowledge to be aware of that?? Or maybe you just a really good footy follower? You also mentioned Pete Mcevoy playing, not a bad effort considering he wasn't named in the paper that day or in the squads listed. How did you know that?
