This just proves the point in a way, you need the Tas market the AFL knows that, I would be more worried than you but thats why we Tigers rattled cans, fought off Alan Bond and raised millions in the Fighting Tiger Fund, no one is moving or disbanding Richmond especially not the AFL, you need to make sure you all buy memberships attend matches, that is more important than position on the ladder although it is generated by position on the ladder.

Yeah, you need to brush up on your own clubs history before you bother with North.

The Adelaide Crows F.C. licence fee share of $200,000 was the crucial last minute financial input that saved Richmond from extinction. The "save our skins" campaign was a failure and the Richmond supporters failed to save their club.

If not for the Crows, Richmond would now be a footnote in history alongside University F.C.. I'm not trolling, this is a fact.

Geelong has its own team and there is more support in Tassie than on the Gold Coast, your 7 mill upgrade is chump change to the AFL, and the council would retain the facilities anyway.

Again not saying it should happen or that I want it to happen but some very hard work will be needed in membership and finances to take away the AFL's leverage, this is why North cant afford Carlton like rebuilds of multiple years.

North has been where Richmond is now, and levels are always harder to deal with when you have fewer great/good players to stride into the
record books.
Just churning over players without any clear idea of getting to the top is futile. taking older leftovers is often fraught with danger.

Apart from the coach it's actually quite exciting without the cloggers they've just removed.

Per Roy Morgan they have more than Gold Coast, GWS, Melbourne and Bulldogs. It's not a perfect study as Sydney have the most supporters, by virtue of Sydney having a high population so many saying Swans support when it's not that passionate.

I don't see why numbers in Melbourne wouldn't be relatively accurate though.

Roy Morgan is not a reliable source for supporter base numbers. Facebook likes is more accurate for soft core support. North have 150k likes the second lest out of Victorian clubs. Melbourne have the lest with 134k but the dees have been shocking the past 10 years but they finished 9th this year had more members then north and finished 6th In attendance’s out of the Victorian clubs and drew some great crowds this year 85,000 against Richmond, 71,000 against Collingwood, 53,000 against the saints and 47,000 against Sydney. Crowds north could never draw even when they were in the top 4.


North in my opinion have the smallest game attending supporter base in the competition and even when they are winning will only get 20-22,000 fans too their home games. The dees, Saints and dogs at least get 27-30,000 of their own fans when they are winning

Its SFA members and tending downwards at an alarming rate. Next two years especially is going to be hard work- less members and north fans don't go when there's no chance of playing finals which is why getting a dusty or kelly would have really helped. Alas.
