Does anyone remember Sid's Pies in Barkly St? Magnificent apple pies with real whipped cream, Boston buns and I'm pretty sure they did a version of the jam-filled doughnuts. Su-bloody-perb, as were Sid's signature pies and sausage rolls.

Slack Nang is right about Krispy Kreme doughnuts. An abomination.

They take the literally fatal combination of high fat and high sugar content to new levels. I mean if you want to take the short exit like that you could at least be patriotic and die of a surfeit of Timtams.

Arnotts is still owned overseas but at least Timtams are an Australian invention.

I’ve never had a Krispy Kreme doughnut. A bag of hot jam doughnuts from the van outside the footy ground is what I crave on the rare occasions I get to a game.

Also have fond memories of glazed pineapple doughnuts from Downyflake, many years ago.

Jam donuts outside grounds, or old Footscray Station jam donut van - haven't tried the new sort that have meant to have taken up the tradition, or the jam donut van at Vic Market. YUM.

Apart from now craving a hot jam donut, I'm bored shirtless....

Yes I have. Fancy toppings and fillings do not disguise the fact they are using cheap flour and powdered milk

Personally, I think the doughnut bought at Coles Express are better

Having lived near a Cadbury factory in Australia and then moving to York in the 90's; Terrys was best but I would happily eat Rowntree any day. I had friends at school whose parents worked at Terrys, they were always popular. Australian Cadbury just isn't quite right.... I am not sure why they made it different.

Additional:
After posting this, I had to go and buy some Terrys just had to....

Not sure this is the reason that the Aussie Cadbury’s chocolate is different, but I remember hearing that the recipes they used differed between the New Zealand and Australian factories because of the heat in Australia—apparently the NZ formula chocolate would melt at Australian temperatures, so something had to be added to increase the temperatures the chocolate could withstand.

Donughts are the single most over rated thing on earth, food or otherwise.
That’s because they’re not as good as the used to be. They’re now cooked in the cheap nastie vege oils and there is all these crappy creamy ones out there. Old fashioned cinnamon, iced, or hot jamb cooked in traditional fat were epic. DB705EC9-F70F-4413-A0CE-1B37F71EACD3.jpeg

Cinnamon is like a mortal enemy. Can't stand the stuff.

Can someone send in to the Herald Sun any random stories that might include something Collingwood ?

I feel like there's been more Essendon stuff in the Hun over the extended off season.
Some days there's been multiple fluff articles.
Heppell's hair, Jobe stuff, even in generic AFL articles there's often a Bombers photo.

Seems like the HUN is trying to convince the world of the necessity of that club...

yeah Dimma , lot of dons stuff , but you will see an image of a Collingwood jumper or player everyday.
Dosnt even matter if the story has anything to do with them.
I only look at the web page , wouldn’t contribute in any way to that organisation.

Todays offering , Didak and Lynden Dunne.

I used to work in a doughnut shop. I even started a pastry chef apprenticeship. The shop made fantastic doughnuts and berliners. If you do not know what a berliner that is OK. Here in Vicco it is called a jam filled doughnut

The shop did so many different styles and flavours...I was working a 14 hour day. First to make the doughnuts and then to make the fillings for the next days doughnuts

They used real chocolate on top instead of the imitation chocolate on every single doughnut sold in Australia today

The shop was a complete failure though. Back then I think it may have been ahead of its time and despite the owners being jerks, they tried to introduce real doughnuts to Australia. They spent soooo much money on developing their own signature flour

They may have been jerks but I feel their pain when only a few years later Krispy Kreme arrived here. They are an abomination of a doughnut

I walk my cats, as much as cats need walking. It is usually them skulking off into my neighbours yard and sitting under their car. I do this every day. My neighbours have been so generous and gracious towards us and this slightly weird behaviour that last christmas I had to say thanks for putting up with it

I bought them Lindt balls

Are you Tom Liberatore?
