Welcome to 90s hip hop. The East coast/West Coast rivalry is peaking. At the same time there are new sounds coming out from Detroit and the south. There's also a collective of talent who shun the gangsta stuff. Who do you align to? Who will you be signed by?

Death Row Records - gets one kill each night, performed by (in order - Suge, Dre, Snoop, Tupac)

Suge Knight - The Record Executive is Night Immune; Find an unsigned artist to sign, if the artist is already signed it will be unsuccessful.
Dr Dre - Upon the death of the Suge assumes the position of Record Executive
Snoop - secretly changes one player's vote the next day, cannot target the same player on consecutive nights
Tupac - sets one player a posting challenge for the next day, this could be anything game related but does not include the players vote, mod has final say on whether the intimidation can be submitted. Failure to complete the intimidation results in death, cannot pick the same player on consecutive nights

Drive by - At any time, Suge and Tupac can commit a drive by. If they target Biggie Smalls the kill will succeed. If they shoot and miss, their roles will be revealed to Bad Boy Records.

Win condition: eliminate the Neutrals, and equal or outnumber Bad Boy Records and Native Tongues

Bad Boy Records - gets one kill each night, performed by (in order - Puff, Biggie, Craig, Faith)

Puff Daddy - The Record Executive is Night Immune; Sign an artist each night, if the artist is already signed it will be unsuccessful.
Craig Mack - Upon death of the Puff assumes the position of Record Executive

Eminem - Night Immune, can not be signed, each night gets to kill 1 career.

Outkast - Night Immune, can not be signed, each night can choose to sow rumour about a player or release the info to the media and destroy the career of any previous players

Win condition: Make it to the final 4 or 5 artists

Native Tongues collective (can not be signed by Bad Boy or Death Row)

A Tribe called Quest - each night picks one player to learn their role
Jungle Brothers – chooses one player each night to block; can choose the same player two times in a row
Queen Latifah - Picks one target each night to kill
Monie Love - Can protect one other player each night from all actions, cannot pick the same player on consecutive nights. Can self protect
De La Soul - 3 players that share a PM and each night can sign an artist. If they are from Native Tongues they join the PM (retain their role). If they are unsigned, they join the PM.

Unsigned artists
All other players are unsigned artists with no special abilities. Once signed they will join the PM (Death Row, Bad Boy, De La Soul)

Win condition: eliminate all Death Row Records, Bad Boy Records and Neutrals

Mix tape - Neutral

Mix Tape protects from all night and day actions (including signings), will be randomly handed out at the start and must be passed on by the end of the next day phase or will be randomised. It will explode randomly and vanish during the game, killing whoever holds it at the time. It can only be passed within a faction once per time received

Parole Violations - We're in 90s hip hop, there's no wolves, the gangs involved aren't mafia and we're too hardcore to be flogs.

Banned words - Serial Killer, arsonist, flogs, mafia, wolves
OK terms - village, boss, underboss, a description of the role (like a manipulator)

There is an escalating scale of penalties.

1. Must finish each post with "I'm a hip hop superstar wannabe"
2. vote doesn't count
3. night actions (if any) don't count
4. Only 1 post in next 24 hours.
5. Rot in Jail (Modkilled).


If multiple groups attempt to sign an artist, it will be unsuccessful for all.

Spoiler: rules

Basic rules:
Roles will be randomly assigned and communicated via PM (except villagers). The village must identify and kill all players not aligned with the village before non-village players can satisfy their win condition(s).

Each day will consist of two phases:
Night phase (9:00pm – 9:00am Vic Bias time) approximately.
Players with night actions will nominate targets via PM during this phase. Actions can be placed in advance of the night phase. Nominations will not be accepted after deadline whether or not it has been announced in the thread. Each individual player has final say of their own action, but when in a faction does not have to specifically confirm the action. Providing no comment regarding a player's own action will be taken as agreement with actions already posted by other faction members.
Day phase (9:00am – 9:00pm Vic Bias time) approximately.
After the results of night actions have been announced all players will publicly vote to lynch a player during this phase. Votes will not be accepted after deadline whether or not it has been announced in the thread.

Voting:
All votes and change of votes must be bolded and have myself tagged. If your vote is not bolded/tagged it will not be counted. You do not have to provide a reason for your vote for it to be valid. I will react with the reaction on posts with valid votes.
Multi lynch is allowed. There will always be a lynch in each day phase.

While the game is running players are not permitted to discuss the game anywhere but in this thread, the Dead PM or PMs related to this game, if you have one. Posting any screenshots and direct quotes from PMs are prohibited. Players caught breaching these rules will be modkilled without warning and denied entry to the Dead PM.
Deleting or editing your posts in the game at any time will result in a modkill

Players who are killed are permitted to post a farewell post provided that it does not impact the game (eg. “thanks for the game” or “good luck”). Dead players must leave the game immediately and are not permitted to post or like posts in the game thread or any PM they are a part of (except the Dead PM) until the end of the game.
