According to this article Djolovic would have to:

French Open
Unvaccinated visitors to France must present a compelling reason for their travel and provide evidence of a negative coronavirus test taken less than 48 hours before departure. They also must test again upon arrival, quarantine for at least a week and test again at the end of their quarantine.
This year’s French Open begins May 22. Djokovic is the defending champion and has won the tournament twice.

Wimbledon
... as an unvaccinated person, he will have to take a coronavirus test two days before traveling to the country, quarantine for 10 days and take more coronavirus tests on the second and eighth days of his quarantine.

Those are the travel rules for foreign visitors set by the British government. It remains to be seen whether the All England Club will set its own requirements for participation in the tournament or merely follow the government guidance.

Djokovic has six Wimbledon titles and won last year’s tournament. This year’s event starts June 27.

U.S. Open

Djokovic’s unvaccinated status could be problematic when it comes time for the U.S. Open, a tournament he has won three times. Visitors to the United States must be fully vaccinated if not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident or traveling to the United States on an immigrant visa.
There are exceptions to this rule, but most of them would not seem to apply to Djokovic. He could claim to have a documented medical contraindication to receiving a coronavirus vaccine or could seek a humanitarian or emergency exception from the U.S. government.
People from countries that have limited coronavirus vaccine availability also may seek an exception to the vaccination requirement, but Djokovic’s home nation of Serbia is not on the list of such countries (nearly all of them are in Africa).

I also heard on US TV that he plays in tournaments in California and Miami leading up to the open.
If Djokovic wants to the play the French and Wimbledon and the the US tournaments he needs to engage his brain and get vaccinated, but with his holier than thou attitude i don't think he will and he will pay the penalty. He certainly comes over as an entitled price for sure.

Would his ego let him be seen to give in and get vaxed? Think of all the antivaxers he'd be letting down!

When watching US news last night, one commentator referred to him as a 'New Age' believer. Wasn't quite sure what that meant in relation to him so found these three interesting articles (to me anyway).

Which is consistent with a person that believes in natural immunity and thinks vaccinations, tests, physical distancing, masks and isolating is bullshit.

The story of why he would undertake a test, and the timeline, is simply not plausible.

We have ensured it will be a political hot potato at any tournament, not just the grand slams, whereas he probably could have got in elsewhere no questions asked beforehand, well he did all last year....

Both times he's had Covid

Which story, and what timeline?
Well, in part, this is what makes his story implausible.

The story being that Djokovic ‘intended to stay at home, but decided to enter Australia to compete at the first Grand Slam of the year only after he was given a medical exemption’.

Very strong athlete who doesn’t believe in vaccinations. Tests positive to SARS May 2020 - all good, as he believes in natural immunity. Public announcement of infection and isolation. No symptoms or after effects.

Returns to public appearances and playing.

18 months later, out of the blue**, decides to have a RAT test on Dec 16. Tests negative, as he expected, being in great health. Zero symptoms.

Decides to be tested again. This time the authouritive PCR test, just in case he has contracted the virus and needs to isolate over Xmas. Tests positive but doesn’t isolate, no public announcement.

A batchelor who believes he has natural immunity, and feels fantastic, doesn’t waste a day lining up for tests once he has been given the all clear. He certainly doesn’t go out of his way to isolate over Xmas for a virus that he thinks is bullshit.

However, someone that is familiar with Tilley’s cunning loophole, somehow finds out he has tested positive and, despite having passed the Dec 10 cut off date, tells him he should send a copy of the test to TA to seek an exemption from the requirement to be vaccinated.

Entry into the AO accepted. Tilley repeatedly states he has no idea what Djokovic’s ‘medical condition’ is.

**Test Dec 16, requirement to isolate for 14 days ends Dec 30, travels to Australia Jan 5.

Whilst i too belive that his positive test and subsequent exemption is likely bullshit none of that has been proven.

My bigger issue with your version of events is believing that Novak would have to line up for any form of test. Hes a multi millionaire superstar sportsperson, if he needed a PCR test he could get one done at his house on a schedule that suits him. If you believe he fudged the test then you can absolutely believe he can get a test.

It wasn't out of the blue. He attended a basketball game in Belgrade on 14 December .. "after which it was reported that a number of people tested positive with COVID 19.

Despite having no COVID symptoms, I took a rapid antigen test on 16 December which was negative, and out of an abundance of caution, also took an official and approved PCR test on that same day.

The next day I attended a tennis event in Belgrade to present awards to children and took a rapid antigen test before going to the event, and it was negative.

I was asymptomatic and felt good, and I had not received the notification of a positive PCR test result until after that event."

Novak must be so confused, he thought the accommodating people of Australia would love him, given he's success here. He obviously loved Australia and that showed in he's performances.
Little does he know, Australia doesn't worship celebrities.
Maybe, he didn't get the memo...

It would have been unreasonable to demand that all incoming passengers are fully vaccinated for most of last year. You can see below that none of the relevant countries have got past 150 doses per 100 people (i.e. 1.5 doses per person, or approximately everyone with at least one dose and approximately half the population with two doses) until the last quarter of 2021.

Djokovic complied with the rules at the time, which revolved around quarantining and staying in bubbles, being tested constantly, and no intercontinental travel at all for most people – international sportspeople just happened to be some of the few who could actually get both a visa and a flight.

He also believes positive thoughts can purify water. Bloke’s a loon.

It’s not my story.

Do you have a plausible reason why he took the PCR test on Dec 16?
