Hey guys discuss all news, results and information on the upcomming NTFL and TEAFA competitions.

Sad to hear about the death of Jabiru Bombers player Dwayne Whitehurst. He used to play for Southern Districts and he won the Reserves best and fairest medal last year for Jabiru (Jabiru only have a Reserves side).

Casino Sharks are also back in the TEAFA competition this year.

Just wondering if anyone could give me an update on Palmerston Magpies? How did they fare last season? and how there shaping up for this campaign? ins and outs?

They missed out on the finals last year but finished fairly well.

Their best players last year were:

James Imbi
Justin Wilson
Nick Tomlinson

Ewing played alright at full-forward in the second half of the season.

Most sides would be into pre-season by now, who are the coaches at each club and are there any big names gone from last year? Also are their any major recruits signed up for this coming season?

Coaches:

St Marys: Brett Hand
Palmerston: Darren Flanagan
Southern Districts: Not announced, possibly Michael Mclean
Tiwi Islands: Greg Orsto
Waratahs: Rick Hall
Wanderers: Not announced.
Nightcliff: Mark Motlop
Darwin: Ian Smith

Not sure of any recruits yet.

What ever happened to Mark Tyrell? Is he still playing footy with Palmerston? Was a pretty handy footballer and leader of the club, haven't heard his name for a while? Also, is Peter Shephard playing footy with the magpies? Didn't he kick 20 odd goals in a game a few seasons back?

Shannan Rusca should be going around again after winning the Nichols last year.

Brett Backwell said he wanted to play for the NT when they put a side in the SANFL or WAFL so he could be a slight chance.

Do you think Dean Rioli will go again for Tiwi?

NTFL Challenge

As a introduction to NTFL Football this season the 11 and 12 year old boys who played AFL Juniors will play a round robin carnival representing NTFL clubs. Each game will be scored and the team finishing top and the end of the night will win the NTFL Challenge trophy. All games are going to be played at TIO Stadium under lights.

One lucky player who signs up on the night with a NTFL club will go in the draw to win a jumper and pair of shorts and socks with his favourite club.

There will be a BBQ provided on the night. Games start at 5.30pm and will conclude at 8.30pm.

If he does play for Tiwi Islands at full-forward he should kick a few, Tiwi games are always very high-scoring.
Yeah they have lots of skill and speed, just lacking a bit of height. Rioli wasn't tall but gave em some experience, weight :)p) and a good mark and kick up forward, not sure if they could replace it with all small crumbers
