Sale City were pretty disappointing all day. The scoreboard probably flattered them in the end. Their lack of discipline was amazing - they must have given away 8 50 metre penalities. Most of them were for dissent, so without being on the ground, it's hard to know if they were warranted or not. After seeing them twice, i'm even more convinced it will be a Gormy/Churchill GF.

Treasy was unbelievably good. Wouldn't say he was gobbing off too much, apart from retaliating verbally to someone on the wooden deck in the last 5 minutes of the game. He's been pretty well behaved all year.

I suppose we will know this week, when Churchill play City. The key to City is there midfield, not sure if Churchill have the same type of players as Gormandale to stop them though especially with Leigh Mcdonald playing up forward.

Will tip City comfortably.

Well the pace of Sale may be negated by the average centre square at Gaskin Park this week.

And Leigh has been resting forward Nugget, had 35 touches and 7 goals on the weekend.

Game most likely to be decided by who is going to put their best side on the park, a couple of key injurys for the Cougars from the weekend may hurt, but I think it will be a very close game.

Resting forward really!!! Seven goals from a resting forward phenomenal effort.

Back to Churchill after the game against Stratford?

I still think City in the mud but who knows what is going to happen after the loss last week, been up for a while now and running into a strong Churchill side.

Epic failure in my prediction for the Churchill/Sale City game! Cougars are a disgrace, taking nothing away from Sale who have been outstanding both times I have seen them this year, but even they would have been surprised by that meek and insipid effort by Churchill. Several blokes do not deserve to be wearing the jumper and hopefully wont be next week.

With Burke gone for the year and Campbell out until second week of finals (PROBABLY GONE BY THEN) the year is done. Nathan McDonald has answered the SOS but its just not going to make a difference.

Might be wrong but I think that could be City's first win at Gaskin Park?

Wow, big surprise. Some may have tipped City, but, I'm sure no one would have tipped them by that margin!!!

Which Campbell is out, and why is he out? Injured?

I would have to agree with you big cigar about your contenders.

There are three sides that can win it this year and they are Sale City, Gormandale and Rosedale. Churchill cannot win with them two players missing and Glengarry without King and May are a different side.

Rosedale are a big side with plenty of guns up forward and a good midfield. Once they get good game time into Craig Mayman and settle him back to defence they could be a chance. Also have Ryan Wissmer running around in the twos which probably forces another one of there good juniors in Darryl Mayman deep in defence. If they free him up and continue to get confidence they could rattle a few sides.

I agree with you nugget. I think rosedale could rreally do some damage come finals time. Heyfield out of the finals for the first time in 15 years? what was their downfall?

Rosedale could do some damage but will not win it, coming from Elimination final is just too tough, Churchill in 95' are from memory the only to team I can remember making the GF from 5th, I may be wrong. Only need to look at Gormy last year, almost made it but just ran out of juice.

Those couple of average results against TTU and Cowwarr I think it was, really hurting Rosedale now. But who knows what could happen, injurys knocking Glen and Churchill around, if City or Gormy cop a few? Seriously how good a run have City had with injuries? You need everything going your way to win it these days, with several teams fairly close together in talent.

A culmination of things ranging from injuries, form and missing vital players from last year.

As big cigar said heyfield (like other premiers) were fortunate to have great depth and an injury free year last year. Makes a massive difference.

No BS Rumours - Bold confirmed
Normal, grape vine rumours

Hider signed for another 2 at City.

Tollner hunted by Gippsland league clubs inc Sale, Maffra, Morwell & Bairnsdale. (If Bairns come in of course)

Schuback hunted by Gippsland league clubs inc Sale, Bairnsdale
(wasted in NGFL)

Feel free to comment.....:thumbsu:

Are you wanting comment on whether those clubs will hunt Schuback and Tollner, or whether they will go to one of those clubs.

I very much doubt Schuback is being hunted by Sale.

Bairnsdale will not go into GFL.

Dylza??

Of course any club would want the calibre of players like Mclay, Schuback and Tollner running around for them!!!

Why would a team go for a player that has previously walked out on them?

Josh Carr left Port at the end of 2004 to play with his brother Matt at Fremantle and then returned to Port for the 2009 season.

The club might go for the player because he is what is needed to win a flag, be a mentor or have some development role etc.

Just like the player might want to return because he has matured, mentally or physically developed or had personal circumstances change.

A player of Schubacks quality, Sale would love to have him back no doubt if it is in the best interest of both parties.

You can't just say no club should take a player back cos it wasn't a fairytale previously.

Is Stuey coaching next year Nugget? Change will occur at Churchill, I think most league observers were perplexed by Churchills decision to go down the non-playing coach path, and correctly I should add, wont happen next year.

Not too sure, we still have one game to go so I assume that those decisions will be sorted out after we play Cowwarr.

Interesting point of view on non playing coaches and the fact that King won't be coaching is this his or the clubs decision?
