Extremely tough fixture.

We face ALL of last year's top 4 away (Richmond twice). We also face semi finalist West Coast away, and finalist Essendon away.

That's six of the top 8 away. Only four home games against finalists.

Trips to NT, Tasmania and Geelong.
Double ups - Port, , Richmond, Essendon, St Kilda,Melbourne
Singles - Sydney, Brisbane, GC, Freo, GWs, Bulldogs, Collingwood, West Coast, Freo, Carlton, Hawthorn, North

Thats quite good there with our double ups. I see us winning at least 7 of our 10 double ups. Then need to find 5-6 more from the singles

See I am happy to accept that we had an average year, we deserve average time slots, but it swings far too much for clubs like us and probably West Coast.

An average year and we are getting some bottom 4 all the twilights and crappy time slots (and mostly on Foxtel without the commercial exposure). A top 4 year and we get just "good" time slots, not great.

Can guarantee that the year, and any year, where Carlton perform as well as we did last year, they go into the next with a dream fixture. Back to every second Friday night.

We have to make a grand final to get maybe 3 Friday nights... all against big Melbourne clubs anyway.

We're still doing the heavy lifting in the NT while the other team gets paid a ton of money for us to be there.

We should be too big and powerful to be playing games on non-finals grounds in non-AFL locations.

Not fussed about who we play, 2020 is not our year, finishing 9th,10th,11th won't feel any better than 12-16th.

Right now I think we are that big 14 year old kid that doesn't yet realise how big and strong he is. As such he gets pushed around constantly.
One day however, we will grow a set and call out the BS. When we pick that little kid up and launch him 10 m, the cr@p will stop. Until then we will continue to get pushed around.

We still need to grow up and become the club we have the potential to be. When we do, we will be one of the big 4 in the competition. There is a reason we constantly get screwed over and held down by the VFL, they are fearful of us realising what we could do if only we had the courage to do it.

Also, can we stop using one of our limited requests on the Indigenous round match, don't get me wrong, love the round. However, to use one of a couple of requests on it? The request needs to be a standalone game in that round, a Thursday/Friday/Saturday night in that round.

The round goes for 3 weeks anyway. Everyone just does the ceremony and jumper the week before or the week after if they don't get it at home. We play Melbourne in the NT the week prior, we'll probably do something for that game as well. It's covered and if it happens a week early or a week later it is what it is.

Small club, Port have used their big request to lock down ANZAC round (on the day), Saturday night, probably channel 7.

We're probably not getting Saturday nights marquee game from Richmond and Essendon, not that they should own it, but let's lock down Friday night, even a Thursday night, every year.

We've used our request on a 4 pm twilight game on Foxtel.

Wow I'd love to know which 7 you think we win!

Port? 50-50 at best. Right now I'd have Port favourite in both, but lets say 1 win.
Richmond? Will get spanked in both. 0 wins.
Essendon? Home? 70% chance. Away? 25% chance. Lets say 1 win.
St. Kilda? Home? Yes should win. Away? 50-50 for mine. But let's be generous and give it 2 wins.
Melbourne? At home probably. Away? Nope. We got very lucky last year. We have had 2 stinkers in a row there. 1 win.

That gives us 5. If I'm being generous. In reality I would bet right now on only winning 3 of those.

I am a very generous person so
St Kilda Twice
Port Twice
Essendon - Once
Melbourne - Once
Richmond - Once

Will never happen while Chapman is in charge.

I like Andrew Fagan, but don't tell us it's a good fixture because we get a little bit of everything.

A good fixture would be half a dozen Friday night games, a dozen Saturday night games, 5 or 6 games in Melbourne. No games in Tasmania, NT, and anywhere else clubs sell games to. We don't get good fixtures.

This is an average fixture.

To be fair it sounded like he was talking about it from a members point of view. To only have 2 Sunday twilight games is a pretty good result.

even with a good fixture next year we would struggle. we arent a contender anymore. it is what it is. Looking at that fixture.. we will win our our 9 or 10 games in 2020. Copping the Tigers twice is brutal and those horrible sunday twilight games suck...

Richmond are quite vulnerable away from the MCG. Since 2017 their are 16-14 away from the MCG and to break it down even further 3-7 against top 8 sides.

Real lack of prime time games. The club will talk it up but it is not a good fixture.
I don't really think we deserve prime time games after the past two years.

The time slots don't bother me (with the exception of using us to support Poort).

It's the opponent and location side of things I hate.

If you believe that the VFL try to even things out for their non-favourite teams (i.e. not the big Vic clubs) over a period of years, having a horrible draw while we are down could be a blessing in disguise. We get our worst draw whilst we aren't contending anyway. This helps us finish lower and get better draft picks (actually helping us stop self sabotaging by pushing to finish 8th every year). It also hopefully means that in 3 years time when we should be back climbing the ladder, we get better draws which help us.

I'm trying very hard to find something optimistic out this this.

To be expected, annoyed that one of our Friday night matches is wasted on the bulldogs, should only be getting Friday night games against top drawing vic clubs. Looks like round 5-10 is our best chance of stringing a few wins together. I reckon will start to season quite competitive but will probably be limping towards the end with a lot of tough games.
