Great summary, Membling!

I was also impressed with how Tom Ryan looked up forward - took a couple of good marks, and kicked 2 goals.

It was also good to see the U19's, specifically Rider and in Cabor, play good games. Cabor looks quite good up forward.

Ryan looked good, especially in the second.

Looking at potential Allies squad members, Cochran and Harrison should be in.

Carmichael maybe off HBF. Smokey in Este as third back.

Unsure as haven't seen much of the other teams as of yet

Half time:

Swans 7.3 45
Giants 2.3 15

Playing well and finding space to move. What is very noticeable is that the skill levels have substantially increased from say 4-5 years ago.

GWS ruck is a monster and winning the taps comprehensively. We are reading the play quite well and cutting off their chains.

Good to have the game up but very difficult to ID players...

3rd qtr
Swans 64
Giants 33

Pretty erratic quarter from both sides as the tempo increased.

Swans were there own worst enemy (common theme...) and coughed it up in the f50 a few times to give giants chances.

Managed to get some eyes on players

Gibson played well, exploding from stoppages

The Jenkins twins were also good with ball in hand

Marshall was also very good around the stoppages

Full time
Swans 12.12 84
Giants 6.4 40

Sting out of this game, look a cimbination of heat, score and fatigue.

Overall, the swans have had more polish with ball in hand. Skills through out were improved over previous years.

Looked very good on the transition and movement with the footy

Currently, does not look like we have dominant KPD/KPF, but noting their ages will likely become more evident into the u18s

FT
Swans 9.7 61
Giants 8.7 55

Goals:
Rider, Hawkins, Jans, Cameron, Ryan, Brain and Fitzpatrick with two unknown in first q.

Very much a higher intensity game than against canberra and syd afl u 22s.

Played well with everyone contibuting across the field.

Again, impressed with our defensive setup and running. Went to water after Khye Gibbs got injured mid way into last with Giants coming hard in last.

Nothing particularly new learned thoughout this game with the usual suspects performing well

Under 16’s ended up 93 to 24 to the Swans.

Goal scorers:

Griffin 3, Newman 2, McCartney 2, Beavis 2, Meaney, Jenkin, Smith, Chambers.

Impressed with Norris and Beavis in defence. Price and the Jenkins twins in the middle of the park. Coughlin looked to twing a calf early in the game but played on. Impressive in attack but kicking terrible. Shame McGroder didn’t play. He is a tall forward option who made Australian all schools under 15.

Please let Beavis make it to the AFL.

Please.

Goal on the siren sees the U18 girls get up for the win 75-55
You get the feeling that women's footy is coming on strong and the Swans and the Academy are playing a significant part.
Putting the AFLW team out front is an incredibly smart thing to do. As the saying goes IIRC "it's hard to be what you can't see".

After about 5 years of watching the girls academy play their comps, the skills have improved at such a rapid rate. We now are participating against some of the Girls equivalent of the TAC cup teams which will make a change from playing GWS academy every second week and having our senior girls play some VFLW will see further development there as well.
