Interesting. Only one of the Jenkin kids and no McGroder.Just saw the Daily Telegraph/Code have compiled a list of the brightest U19s male league, union and AFL prospects in NSW.
From the Academy:
U18's
Lachlan Carmichael, defender
Noah Chamberlain, forward
Max King, midfielder
James O’Loughlin, forward
U17's
Conrad Blackwell-Smith, midfielder

I think it's 50/50 at this stage whether he sticks with AFL, or goes on to play soccer.I guess this makes him your No. 1 ac target for 2027.
It was interesting they didn't name McGroder, not sure why they did thatInteresting. Only one of the Jenkin kids and no McGroder.

Still no Max King
That'll teach me to look properly!Nah, he is on the bottom. Cut off
I wonder whether we never viewed Cochran as a tall defender but more as a general / HB flanker? If that's the case, it explains why we didn't take him as we're pretty stocked with guys who can play that role as well as having Carmichael available who sounds like he's a better user.
With Snell ahead of him and Carmichael coming through I guess they felt Andrew was a better bet. If they had Cochran pigeon-holed then I can't fault their thinking. I had thought they might have seen him with potential to play further upfield but I guess not.Reckon would have been a general def/third tall/attacking def in seniors.
He is not a one on one lock down defender (at this current point in time)
A few here mentioned they thought he was more wing / HF which again we are well stocked with and Chamberlain and King coming through this year. The more I think about it, the more I can see the wisdom in not taking him. With Snell ahead of him and Carmichael coming through I guess they felt Andrew was a better bet. It's good though that he was picked up so the value of the Academy to the AFL at large remains. Hope he does well.A few here mentioned they thought he was more wing / HF which again we are well stocked with and Chamberlain and King coming through this year. McCartney will have to make his call on either Norf as F/S or Academy with us. Given his old man coaches at the GWS his ties to the Swans aren't as strong as Blakey's were. Don't get too excited people, expect him to head to North.Just saw the Daily Telegraph/Code have compiled a list of the brightest U19s male league, union and AFL prospects in NSW.

We've got a few at this point for selection - probs just as well we know this one is off the board early. His also been to multiple North games over the years.
I'm expecting him to go to North as well. Which is a shame as he seems like he will be an absolute diamond currently.
