For the sake of this thread I'm going to take old as pre 1970 and for the sake of brevity exclude the Beatles and Stones.

A few of my favourites:

The Monkees - Daydream Believer
Johnny Cash and June Carter - Jackson
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Midnight Special

Jimi Hendrix and The Doors own this thread, even if my favourite doors albums were Morrison Hotel (1970) and LA Woman (1971).

The Velvet Underground did some good stuff, particularly the banana album with Nico.

Led Zeppelin put out their first two, possibly three albums in the late 60's.

The Kinks, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison (Astral Weeks) all put out some great stuff in the 60's.

What a great time for music.

Cain't get me enough o' that good ol' bluegrass country music.

"There'll be guitars and fiddles, Earl Scruggs and his banjo to"

"Bill Monroe singing out them ole Kentucky Blues"

"It's time for Roy Acuff to go to Memphis on his train"

"Hear Little Jimmy Dickens sing 'Take An Old Cold Tater And Wait'"

The Small Faces - Itchycoo Park
Manfred Mann - Pretty Flamingo
The Kinks - Victoria
The Crystals - Da Doo Ron Ron
Happy Jack - The Who (I saw ya!)

The Kinks - Victoria

i also forgot to mention pink floyd earlier. though i much prefer pink floyd's 70's stuff, they still did some good stuff in the 60's.
