On another topic. Is AFL X , the AFL's answer to all clubs , in all leagues , struggling to fill 2's , and sometimes 3's? So only need about 14? players , Even use a shorter ground? Short quarters , and fit in another junior game? Haven't watched the X , so not sure re rules etc. Maybe even "masters " X.
Another thought : Corowa 2's to become a "masters" team , with a few young locals?

Just for starters? Corowa 2's. A rather tall firefighter with a booming L foot. #41 , They named the river after this morris medalist. Surname rhymes with thompson. a guest appearance from a bloke who's facial hair didn't match his lid , and about 6 blokes wanting to play F'F. Even the opera singer from rovers keeps pretty fit!

Dont want to steal the Chronicle lads glory. We have spoilt a story or two on them this year on bigfooty.

But i can confirm Joshy Porter attended the training camp, so its safe to assume hes back on board

He either hasn't played at Bulldogs for a while or he is a thirds kid. All i can tell you. I haven't seen him play ones or twos up here.

A rather silly idea that Corowa 2's have a bank of ( for example ) 20 "masters" players they can ring to fill spots. Recent retirees from any level of footy, or even the older blokes who keep fit. I did see 2 old Albury ( over 45 y.o) players going round in the magooes at wang not long ago. One a Morris medalist it seems.
The AFL x ( or a version of ) might be a better bet , and short quarters allows for a girls game too.

John( interleague coach ) Henry , Judd Porter, Brad Thompson , Brad Murray , Mick Caruso , and could add "the pregnant fish " , " sunny smokey NEvic day " ( playing for Bright?) , "the flat pack key" ( at Milawa?), and as I said , about 6 , mostly ex tigers who would want to play out of the square - note , the SMALL square only.
Maybe 12 a side , 4 mids, 4 def , 4 fowards , up to 4 interchange , and move g posts in 30 m, 12 min quarters . A better idea. Start the day with reserves, girls , to this format, then u18 and seniors to full ground.

Rovers don't seem to be even trying which isn't a bad thing. They just seem to be content putting 21 kids out on the paddock each week.
Wodonga have lost close to 30 players if reports are accurate. They could be horrible. No Seiter, Hodgkin, Murray and Johnston who were clearly their top 4 players in a side that hasn't made the finals for a decade.
Corowa is an unknown. Seems to be a few ins and outs and the standard is hard to judge. If the full forward goes then it could be very tough again for them.
Raiders will be strong in the midfield with the addition of Hodgkin and the return of Filo from injury. Height will still be a big factor. Di Mizio played tall even though he's not that big so his loss is huge.
Saints are a tricky one. I know employment is an issue in a small town so a lot of players have to travel. The thing with that though is that means training is inconsistent. Seems to sum them up.
The rest I don't care too much about. Bored with the top sides. Wang doing what they did helped though.

Yarra apparently keen on our (Seymour ) 2017 B&F Harry Wheeler. Employment is supposedly the final hurdle im led to believe ??. Can anyone from Yarra elaborate? ?. If u don't want him we'll keep him, the kid goes alright !! :thumbsu:

Well done to the Pigeons on gaining the services of Harry Wheeler, you won't be disappointed. I believe he's already given a glimpse of his talent in your intra-club praccy match. ....tough as old boot leather and really good hands below his knees, one touch player.
