Yeah, I noticed that last week. Never seen that from him before. You can tell he's no good at it, which is a credit to him.
He started doing it last year.

He had a couple of patches in previous seasons where he’s looked ordinary.

Maybe this is the time he actually is done though. Certainly doesn’t seem to have as much time anymore.

How did Richmond not benefit from the top end of the draft?

Rance - pick 18 (and a PP under the old system)
Plus all their natural picks (Martin, Riewoldt, Rioli, Cotchin….).

The main cogs of their premiership teams are all 1st round picks.

Anyway…. I hope Martin hasn’t gone on a season too long.
Rance wasnt a top 10 selection but he was a priority pick is my point.

Not fair on Cox, he's at about 5 seasons too many at this point.
Calling Cox past it implies that he ever had it. Should've retired after that prelim.

Too early to write off but Mitchell, Pendlebury and Sidebottom all looked like players the game has left behind. Not sure Pies can afford to play all three with the pace of today's game.

Plenty seem keen to put a line through Pendlebury. Not sure about that. He's not the superstar he was but he's a role player now. On a night the Pies were beaten comfortably for most of the game he had 20 touches (10 contested), 4 clearances and 5 tackles. He can still find the footy and has a good crack in the contest.

Players naturally reduce in output as they get older, doesn't mean they still can't be contributing role players that every team needs.

He will still likely have big games mixed in with some solid games. But the danger with these guys is you can get sucked in by the stats when they get the ball. Its good numbers but maybe not as effective as before. But the real problem is when the play moves away from them and they cant keep up. Some guys prolong it by being smarter and able cut the angles better or know when to run. But there's only so many guys you can carry before the team defence falls apart. Collingwood might be on the edge of it.

Lions have Lyons in about the same boat - he can still rack the ball up on the inside, but as soon as the contest moves he struggles to keep up. His man runs off him and then everyone has to compensate and shuffle over to cover for them

He's awful. He's making mistakes left, right, and centre, and half his disposals are going nowhere. It's only because the commentators are too gutless / incompetent / matey with him that it isn't mentioned. Also that Sidebottom is even worse.

Nah, he's a lame horse now, best just shoot him on the track.

Trouble is pies need him to be good given their midfield is ordinary at best without a good Pendles and Sidey. Those two falling away has exposed the rest of the mids

I don’t get the Cox hate. He’s a second ruck who does his role. He wasn’t in their bottom five players in the GF and he has a crack.
If he was a good honest battler, that would be one thing. But he struts around and gobs off like he's a superstar.

The gap between how good he apparently thinks he is, and how good he actually is, just makes his mediocre performances look so much worse.
